Wild and unverified speculation about Vince Young

According to CNNSI (which got this from Pro Football Talk's Rumor Mill), there is a rumor that Vince might be having second thoughts about going to the NFL.  However, there is also something else in there about him wanting to hire an agent, who also happens to be his uncle.

Probably no real reason to print this here, but I figured, just in case anyone wanted to hear it...

Yeah
I saw that too.  At this point, I'm not sure what I feel.  I think the euphoria from the Championship negated the sadness of losing Vince and I was at an equilibrium and positive that our team would continue its winning ways without him.

But to have him come back?  The excitement would be dizzying.  What a weird feeling it would be to go from "Boy, I think Vince can do it, let's keep the fingers crossed" to "Hell yeah, Vince can do it, let's see if Mack lets him go for 100 this year".

Yikes, gotta be careful not to get too worked up about it, especially on a Friday the 13th...

By the way
Can we get the "how many times a day do you reload BON" poll back so I can change my vote to "8-9 hours divided by 5 minutes"...

I can't imagine
that Vince would come back, but if he did, seal it up now.  I can't get myself too excited that he might.  I wonder why he would even have second thoughts at this point.  I guess only time will tell.

Vince is gone
I don't belive that he would have made that press conference if he had second thoughts.  Plus, if the houston thing is true, there is an article saying houston is stupid if they dont on page 2 on the ESPN website, then that is even more reason for Vince to go.

CAUTION!!
CAUTION!!  That aricle was written by Bayless.  I would feel much better about Vince's NFL future withOUT the endorsement of that jackass.

'Tis Only a Dream
It would undoubtedly be cool if he did return, but he'd recieve so much flack if he went back on his decision.

My favorite rumor is the one about the Texans drafting Vince and trading Carr for Ricky Williams.

Vince is gone but i think could be the first pick
The city of Houston pays these players salary, i have a hard time believing that they would take what has become vince's rival over the houston native. People in Houston are going nuts over Vince, but go ahead make millions of people move to Tennessee. That would be a huge slap in the face - God rest their souls if they lose in my opinion "the greatest player that ever was in college and will be in the pros."
"It's so beautiful," "Don't you think that's beautiful? That crystal's so beautiful. It's coming home all the way to Austin, Texas."

What if...
...the Texans GM talked to Vince and said sorry buddy, we're taking Bush. And the Saints said they are going with Leinart and then McNair told him the Titans were going with someone else. And so on. If he found out he probably wouldn't be drafted until the middle of the first round and that he'd most likely be a lock for the #1 pick next year, that's millions of dollars difference in signing bonuses and guarantees and most pros only sign one, maybe two big contracts in their whole careers. If you take the emotion out of it and base it solely on business, it's plausible. But I still don't see it happening.

Regardless, I'm still emailing this story to all the Sooners I know just to ruin their weekends.

At least
Something good will come of all this.

Not True
This rumor is not ture. The Statesman as well as The Zone (sports radio) in Austin are both reporting that Vince has already hired an agent, Major Adams, from a Houston based company. Vince is not coming back to Texas. BON wishes him well.

Major Adams
If I read correctly, Major Adams is the one who is Vince Young's uncle.

Not related
This is what it said, "We're also told that there is no actual family relationship between Adams and Young, but that Young regards Adams as an uncle."

Sounds Like FUD
The usc/bush band-wagoneers are apparently doing everything they can to keep reggie's draft status at #1.  Guess a spastic lateral and not outrunning linebackers on routes will do that.

VY
Hey, If the Texans want VY then so be it. They Have no O Line so he might become a human punching bag without protection. Watch out what you wish for you just may get it!

Either way the top three picks will take a bit of abeating their first year out.

Fight On!

You don't want him with 2nd thoughts...
Look at what happened to Mike Williams in 2004. It would suck to have forfeited his eligibility AND not be able to play in the NFL.  Thats what happened w/ Williams, and you don't want it happening to VY as well.
Fight On! Beat the (Insert USC opponent here)!

slightly different
Not that any of this is going to happen, but VY would still be eligible for the supplemental draft this summer.  Williams had only been in school for two years.  Vince has been for four years and would not have to stay idle for a season.
