Cat Inks Big Deal

What does BON Favorite Female Athlete Ever Cat Osterman have in common with David Wright, Roger Federer, Serena and Venus Williams, Kerri Walsh and Padraig Harrington? As of this week, they're all ambassadors of the Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

As reported on Yahoo Business, Cat has signed a multiyear deal to represent Wilson ball gloves, DeMarini Fastpitch bats and ATEC training equipment. She will also "help with the design of new Wilson and DeMarini equipment including a signature line of Cat Osterman fastpitch gear."

Atta-Cat!

Victoria Secret

I actually feel bad for Cat, she's this once in a lifetime athletic phenom and she has no place to showcase her talents. The Olympics got rid of Softball and given the failure of the Women's Professional Soccer League and the struggles of the WNBA, I seroiusly doubt people are running out to invest in a professional womens softball league. Is it too late for Cat to take up Tennis?

BTW, if there was a Professional Womens Softball League, I think there tagline should be something like, "The PWSL, We've Got Bigger Balls Than The Men."

Great slogan!

I would watch PWSL for the sake of the slogan. Though, I think it'd have the same success as the XFL. The Olympics really shouldn't have cut the program because what do you play for now, the love of the game?

YEP, it sucks.....

That pro sports options for the ladies are few and far between. I have no idea why Americans see no need to watch the gals' games...no, there are not so many dunks, not so many power hitters...but dammit there's skill !! Let's not forget that most women play simply for the love of the game, not the paycheck, anyway...

I'm happy for my Catgirl that she got the Wilson job, especially with the number of younguns playing fastpitch. I don't play anymore, but I just might go buy for the fun of it !
