Anybody read this?
I don't think this guy watches a whole lot of football and could definitely benefit from reading this blog. There doesn't seem to be any mention of the starters sitting out during the game. Is this guy just stirring up some added excitement for the game or what?

The Daily Texan
Not just speaking for ourselves here, but this is why blogs are the future. When was the last time you read a terrific analysis in a newspaper? You could learn more about Texas in two weeks by reading Sunday Morning Quarterback than you would in a semester of Daily Texan coverage.

"Two weeks ago, Oklahoma's Paul Thompson threw for 209 yards, with a 7.7 yards per pass average. Who knows? If the Sooners hadn't been so dedicated to Adrian Peterson and called more pass plays, the outcome might have been different."
Did he actually watch that game? Paul Thompson was a mess in the first half. Then in the second half, he threw two INTs, fumbled once, and had a reciever fumble a pass. Hardly what I would call a dynamic passing attack.
Peterson scored OU's only touchdown on a long(ish) run. Peterson's only fumble resulted in no points. AP kept Oklahoma in the game, and the Sooners lost because Texas forced mistakes in the passing game.
But then there was this:
"The Cornhuskers are averaging 240 yards per game through the air and are averaging almost a first down every time they throw. As if that's not enough, Nebraska is also balanced. The Cornhuskers are also the Big 12's top rushing team, averaging more than 200 yards per game. A good ground game fuels the success of Taylor's aerial attack."
Nebraska's schedule hasn't been too impressive so far, and against USC, the Huskers struggled on offense. Texas has the best rushing D in the Big 12 any way you look at it, and the best defense overall statistically. If the running game fuels Nebraska's passing game, where will the Huskers get their fuel?
By no means is this an automatic win, but the pass defense is nowhere near as horrible as this dude says they are. After all, there were a number of starters missing.
A word about passing yards given up: The stats shouldn't be trusted. When a team falls far behind they will usually pass more often, inflating the pass stats.
By the way, Nebraska is a West Coast team in name only, as Calahan calls his offense a West Coast offense.
