In the state semifinals this past weekend, John Brantley broke the Florida state record for career TD passes, which was previously held by Tim Tebow (Florida) and Xavier Lee (FSU).
"Quarterback John Brantley tossed two touchdown passes - setting a new state record with 99 for his career - breaking the old mark of 98 held by Florida's Tim Tebow and Florida State's Xavier Lee. Brantley finished with 205 yards, finding Dion LeCorn for a 44-yard strike and hitting a wide-open Patrick Nelson for a 76-yard score to break the record."
Brantley's top-ranked Trinity Catholic (13-0) will face No. 2 Pahokee (13-0) at Dolphins Stadium in Miami Saturday for the Class 2B state title.
