AUSTIN -- Texas freshman quarterback Jevan Snead has asked for a release from his scholarship in order to transfer, a source close to Snead said Wednesday.
Snead's availability for Texas' bowl game could be in question because Snead wants to enroll at a new school in January, the source said. "
