The rankings are over the past five years and used a simple formula relying on the genius of Sagarin. We are number 1, Florida is 2, LSU is 3, OU is 4, and Wisconsin is 5. I really don't want Florida or Ohio State to be the first school to win both championships in the same year.

Also, Texas A&M could not be found on the list, oh what a travesty.

hook 'em, baby
Let's get PHF over here and determine where we are when you add in volleyball. Then we'll add baseball, track, and swimming, and we're light-years ahead. Just don't add hockey, water polo, or lacrosse, or Stanford will start to catch up to us.

You ask, I answer
  1. Texas: add 7th in v-ball, final score 20
  2. Florida: add 10th in v-ball, final score 30
  3. LSU: add 19th in v-ball, final score 44
  4. OU: add 12th in v-ball, final score 39
  5. Wisconsin: add 11th in v-ball, final score 42
  6. BC: no score in v-ball, drops off
  7. ND: no score in v-ball, drops off
  8. tOSU: 16th in v-ball, final score 54
  9. Maryland: no score in v-ball, drops off
  10. Michigan: no score in v-ball, drops off
  11. Pitt: no score in v-ball, drops off
So the new ranking would be:
  1. Texas: 20
  2. Florida: 30
  3. OU: 39
  4. Wisconsin: 42
  5. LSU: 44
  6. tOSU: 54
Other teams joining the top 10, but not sure of their order:  Nebraska (ranked in football, #1 in volleyball, mediocre basketball team) UCLA (#1 in basketball, #3 in volleyball, should have a better football team), Washington (ranked in basketball, #4 in volleyball, terrible football team) and Tennessee (ranked in basketball, usually ranked in volleyball, usually ranked in football).

Texas, OU, and LSU move up to the top 3 slots if you throw in WBB results from the last 5 years.  Add in baseball, and I'll bet LSU moves up to #2, and Nebraska may pass OU.

Starting in January 2007, just another Limey Longhorn
