Open GameDay Thread: Alamo Bowl - Iowa at Texas

Wooo! One last day of Texas football! Stow away all your snide Alamo Bowl comments. It's football Saturday! One more time! Remember, boys and girls: No more Texas football for nine months after today.

So wherever you are today, enjoy the game. Soak it in and prepare yourself for hibernation. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life.

But it doesn't start yet. Enjoy the day.

Hook 'Em Horns! Beat Iowa!

Halftime
Well, we've got 19 rushing yards, while Iowa has 61. Tate has 183 yards passing; fortunately, Colt's been effective enough to pick up 160.

Defense must improve, obviously, but the offense is starting to click. I like our chances to win, provided we can start to make some plays on D.

Have to give credit to Greg Davis
for finally calling down field passing plays on that last series.  Let's see more of that in the second half.

This is what is frustrating
about our team.  Why didn't we come out fired up and ready to play?  Our talent level would indicate that we should win so why weren't we doing that in the beginning?  Now we seem fired up and we're kicking butt.

Maybe that is what happens when you ask 19 year olds to play this game.

hmmmm..... i wonder what'll happen on this drive
I'm guessing..... Texas scores because the Hawks are falling on their asses like they did all year. Why stop now? Their asses are probably more calloused than... oh, those people who work in toll booths on the freeway where they have toll booths.

You know, there's falling on your ass, and then then there is being knocked on your ass. With Iowa, it's a toss up. Fall or Knock? Maybe that should be a poll question somewhere.

But I have a lot of good friends who are Iowegians. None of them are Hawks fans. Won't have 'em.

They smell too much, ruin dinners. :)
