Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

If you are a Texans and Horns fan you should . . .

BE ROOTING FOR THE TEXANS!

I know that VY is our man, he lead us to the glory land, but if you really are a Texans fans root for the Texans to win their 5th game. If you don't care for the Texans, then by all means root for the Titans.

If your logic is "well, I hate Bob McNair because he didn't draft VY, so I will root for the Titans" remember that you are rooting for Bud Adams' team. If memory serves me right, Bud Adams is the devil; he dismantled the old Astros scoreboard, traded Warren Moon, and moved the team to Tennnessee. Bud Adams betrayed the city of Houston and every Oilers fan.

If the Browns pass up on Troy Smith and the Ravens draft him, I doubt any self respecting member of the Dawg Pound will root for the Ravens.

Futhermore, John McClain clarifies this point in his blog: http://blogs.chron.com/nfl/2006/12/never_forget_that_vy_is_buds_g_1.html

Vince Young is a Longhorn, but on Sunday he will be wearing the enemy's colors. Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans will revive "the House of Pain."

As far as evil goes...
Bob McNair makes Bud Adams look like Mother Teresa...just sayin'

seriously...
is this all based on him passing on VY, or did he run over your dog when you were a kid or something.  something has to explain the unmitigated hate....

by billyzane on Dec 7, 2006 10:51 AM CST up reply actions

It's not just VY
I don't know how much McNair actually had to do with that

by aorist9 on Dec 7, 2006 11:04 AM CST up reply actions

It was Casserly
and AR is a Texans hater.  Apparently McNair killed his parents.  I guess they can draft you some new far less skilled parents, AR, don't worry.

Bud Adams
still remains in the top ten of my Enemies of the Nation list.

Here's to hoping the Texans win a quarterback duel shootout.

I hope the Texans win
But I wish Vince well in every other game but these two.

Honestly, I think Bud Adams is out to torture the city of Houston and all its football fans.  I remember just a couple of years ago, the Texans were on their way up and it looked like we were going to beat them for many years to come, but now... not so much.

by boomhauer25 on Dec 7, 2006 11:10 AM CST reply actions

Vince Young wins football games.
Wanting the Texans to win is to say you doubt Vince. There's really no way around that.

by chief on Dec 7, 2006 11:19 AM CST up reply actions

I said I hope the Texans win
I didn't say they WOULD win, and honestly I think he's going to destroy us.  But I'm still a Texans fan, and even though I might be extremely unhappy with the way they run the team, I still want them to win.

by boomhauer25 on Dec 7, 2006 11:23 AM CST up reply actions

I don't root for
Pro Teams, they have no heart or soul, and let's face it, they aren't the Horns.  I do however, root for individual pro players that are respectable and/or former Horns.

So with that...GO VINCE!!!!

by Hornbud on Dec 7, 2006 11:58 AM CST reply actions

texans?
For the past few years I had always heard of this small group of people known as "Texans fans," but I had never seen one.  I always thought it was a myth or a practical joke.  I guess they do exist.

Go Vince!  It would be really cool if the number of Titans/Longhorns fans made a good showing in Reliant on Sunday.

How the Texans could have passed on Bush and Young is beyond explanation, just from the standpoint of energizing your fanbase.  Look what it has done for New Orleans and Nashville.

by Jason Mayer on Dec 7, 2006 1:12 PM CST reply actions

Agreed
I am really curious about these alleged Texans fans.
I have a commitment to the truth.

Go Titans.
I went to a Texans/Titans game once, I imagine you were the guy decked out in the all white leather suit with the Texans cape on.

Personally, I think pro football is bunk compared to college football, so my cheering alliances go strictly with the teams who have the highest concentration of texas players on them.  I guess I could put this as a response to hornsbud's post, seconding his sentiment.  I mean, take a look at the offense of the Titans right now, with Bo Scaife and the underappreciated Ahmard Hall.  But Vince takes the cake as my favorite Texas player in the NFL.  Vince Young is and always will be my favorite Texas alum, unless the child of Vince Young and Nick Mangold's little sister comes to Texas in 2026.  You can't help but smile at his evolution in professional football, once again shutting down the naysayers that we as Texas fans are all too familiar with.  It doesnt help that I live in Memphis and can catch all of the Titans games, but I became a Titans fan when Vince got drafted, and will remain a Titans fan as long as Vince is at the helm.

Know why the OU kid was crying? Brian Van Gorder had just eaten his family.

by SuperBentley on Dec 7, 2006 2:29 PM CST reply actions

So I guess
Your favorite is is the Lions?  Good luck with that.

by orangeblood1 on Dec 8, 2006 11:05 AM CST up reply actions

Texans fan, right here
Grew up an Oilers fan. Family had season tickets field level at the 50. Still went to the games in the mid-late 90s when they sucked. Followed them as the Titans for the first few season in Tennessee, but only because the ex-Oilers were on the team. They are gone now.

Then Houston got a new team. Everyone knew it would be a rough ride the first few years. It still is, but you aren't a fan if you don't stick with your team. Of course I'm upset about last year's draft, but from a performance standpoint I think Super Mario will be a great pick within 3 years. Granted, Vince or Reggie would have been great, but McNair and Kubiak retardedly let the old GM pick. Whatever. Gotta roll with it. Just makes it that much more rewarding when something great happens.

I'm still a huge VY fan. Always will be. No possible way I wouldn't be. But is it wrong to hope his PRO team loses because of defensive deficiencies? What would be wrong about a 38-37 Texans win? Is it terrible of Vince to throw for 300 and run for 100, but still lose because his team doesn't field a good defense?

Oh yeah. Fuck Bud Adams, Murderer of Collective Puppies.

Ok,
I just want to know how many times you end up kicking yourself in the ass after you catch yourself getting all excited when Vince starts doing something Vintacular.

or is it
Vinsataional?  :-)

lol
I do believe he is vindicating his position in the draft.

I'll be at Reliant Stadium, decked in burnt orange
Rooting like hell for the Titans.

Houston had its chance to earn me as a fan. Seriously, a franchise so messed up that it can't draft a hometown stud like that gets no sympathy from me.

Go Titans. Go Vince.

by Peter Bean on Dec 7, 2006 2:56 PM CST reply actions

My sentiments exactly
I couldve cared about the NFL and the Texans, but they have zero business sense.  I can't get behind idiots.

by the other Andrew on Dec 7, 2006 2:58 PM CST up reply actions

I can't imagine rooting against Vince Young.
He's already gained my loyalty.  Maybe if he became a coach at OU, I'd have to root against him once a year.  But that's it.

Cheering on Vince is one vehicles through which fans may voice their opinions of Texans management.  I hope McNair and Casserly, wherever that incompetant dungheap may be, hear the cheers for Vince loud and clear.

And don't worry about hurting the players' feelings.  Most of them will be gone in the next two or three years, once they totally demolish and rebuild the organization.

by Kool Hand on Dec 7, 2006 4:02 PM CST reply actions

Gotta agree
with the ou statement..That's about the only time I'd be rooting against VY......I'm a big College FB fan, would have trouble though rooting for his team against Dallas. I'd root for him as QB but hope that Dallas scores more.
Just Remember, No Matter What Happens, ou SUCKS.

I wish VY all the best
But, I also wish the Texans all the best. Sorry Vince, but I have to go with the home team. Not the team that abandoned my home.

Go to hell, Bud.

Texans?
who cares?...
go Titans.  They are now my #2 team next to the 'boys.  The texans are somewhere in the teens

by Matt @ Burnt Orange Nation on Dec 7, 2006 6:54 PM CST reply actions

I don't see
Why being a Horns fan should make me want to root for HOU?  1. They suck and couldn't sniff Tony Romo's jock.  2. Unless he's playing Dallas, I can't root against VY.

Go Titans!

by orangeblood1 on Dec 8, 2006 11:01 AM CST reply actions

It shouldn't
But there are people who claim to be Texans fan, but are rooting for the Titans because of their for VY.

I can't imagine any Cowboys fan who are Longhorns who would root for the Texans.

Hook 'em

Who claims to be a Texans fan?
Seriously.  What have they done to earn your respect except move a poorly run business into your hometown?

by the other Andrew on Dec 8, 2006 5:42 PM CST up reply actions

Because they exist.
They are the Houston team in the NFL, that is why I root for them, and though I don't like a lot of their decisions, I will continue to be a loyal of the team. On Sunday the true Houston Texans fans will be separated from the fake ones, and when we win the Super Bowl I don't want to see them jumping on the bandwagon.

Also, they didn't move a poorly run business, they created that poorly run business!

Re:
"On Sunday the true Houston Texans fans will be separated from the fake ones, and when we win the Super Bowl I don't want to see them jumping on the bandwagon."

And on that day, with my grandchildren sitting in my lap, I'll say "they finally did it.  The bastards did it," and no one will be able to stop me from cursing to my grandchildren because of my advanced age.

by aorist9 on Dec 8, 2006 8:35 PM CST up reply actions

And I don't see
why being a Texans fan is a crime against Vince Young.  It's not like he was drafted by the Titans and then I became a Texans fan.  I was a Texans fan before VY even played a game for Texas.  I didn't choose the situation the Texans are in.  And I'm not gonna ditch my team for the team that ditched me.

If you're a Cowboys fan, fine.  If you're a Titans fan, fine.  If you don't like the Texans, fine.  But lay off the Texans fans.  We're just trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Go Texans!
