I also don't care much. Just an FYI, as lots of folks love Da Steele.
I just can't see OU's offensive line getting it done.
Discuss.

I wonder what Freedom Dip
FreedomDip doesn't think much of the rankings ...

For reference
1 USC
2 LSU
3 Purdue??!!
4 Louisville
5 Texas
6 Miami
7 Michigan
8 OU
9 Ohio State
10 Georgia
So lets review; two of these teams didn't even finish ranked, 5 of them didn't finish anywhere near the top 10 and aside from USC not a single top 10 ranking was even close.
Steele puts a lot, in fact almost his sole criteria, is on schedule, ala Purdue and Louisville. It seems like he looks at talent next.
So basically Phil is like the rest of us, he's 50/50 on predictions.
I think I'll start flipping coins and save the scratch on his publication.
Yeah
Win and we're in.
It's all conjecture
Kinda interesting how
And Ohio State at 8 is definitely a little different from every other publication/personal opinion out there.
This is a good preseason top 25 to get people talking.
Which is smart
The bottom line is that these preseason books are just like diet books: they all follow a standard narrative. Pick a champion, hopefully someone that generates a little buzz/sells some magazines, write catchy & ambiguous text about 120 teams you know a little bit about each of.
Tell you what, though: I'm not buying any this year. If I want an outsider's perspective on a team, I'll go to SMQ, and if I want an insider's/obsessive's view, I'll turn to my favorite blogger of that team.
