Can You Tackle This Man?

Adrian Peterson loves Human Growth Hormone.

The Longhorns certainly had their fair share of problems with AP in 2004. He's supposed to be fully healed from the ankle problems that held him back in '05. The Sooners won't be an easy win this year, that's for sure.

October 7th is a pretty big day for Texas this year once again...

but
does he still run like a bucking bronco?

That'll screw your ankle up pretty quickly.

Remember....
Charles' ankle is fully healed too.

So is Selvin's.

could I tackle him?
Sure, like I could jump out in front of the Metroliner and stop it. But if Ngata can do it, then surely some other freakishly large, preferably Samoan, lineman can...

And it's not like Bhomar is a lock to improve.

Wow
You must have a freakishly small head.

His dad gets out of the pen
right before the RRS -- and it will be the first time he's seen his son play since junior high.

AP will be fired up if he's healthy (I give him a 70% chance of being healthy, just from past history).

Regardless of how good each team is, the RRS is going to be a slug fest.

One thing Texas has going for it is fast, fast, fast linebackers. There are no more Harris types or slow white converted DEs playing LB this time.
I truly believe that will be the difference in this game.
The upgrade that began with Robinson and then Chizik is complete.
Put in a solid rotation of maybe the best defensive line Texas has had since the Hampton days and a true run stopper like Roy Miller.......

I don't think people understand that the depth and speed of the Texas defense isn't all talk or fan's wishfull thinking. AP isn't gonna just blow by on sweeps or option pitches.

I can't wait to see these worlds collide.

What if...
Considering the fact that UT was one of the schools he was strongly considering, can you imagine what a backfield of VY and AD would have looked like...with UT's O-line, it would have been crazy filthy sick.

Leinart/Bush vs VY/AD...it almost happened.

But hey, that ship has sailed and I have to laugh at Peterson for running his mouth about not choosing UT because he didn't think he could win a championship there. Of course he could have the last laugh if OU goes all the way this year, but still, something tells me he wouldn't mind trading his O-Line for Texas' big boys any day of the week.

I hope Jamal smokes him and Texas ends his Heisman campaign...but I'm not bitter, no, not bitter at all.

He is an incredible
athlete -- and when he gets the ball you almost hold your breath.

He just wasn't in the stars for UT. For some reason he decided trailer homes, incest and the occasional tornado were more appealing than Austin.

Although, I sometimes wonder with his history of injuries if he'll end up going the way of Bo Jackson. I by no means wish that on him, but his body has not been very durable.

I feel the same way...
about AP, but if AP had come to Texas would Jamal have still choosen Texas?
I'd like to see how Jamal proves out over the long run, but at this point I feel that things worked out for the best.
Imagine Adrian, Jamal, and VY in the same backfield.  I just drooled on my keyboard.

how?!
how can u say anything bad about adrian peterson, besides the fact that he should have gone to texas, which he probably realizes by now... he will probably end up breaking the all time rushing record i mean he already has 3033 career yards which leaves roughly 1680 yards per year the next 2 years to break the record, and with his discusting athleticism, and just pure skill, he is more than capale of doing, he is just a freak, just like vince young, the fact that anybody talks bad about him just disgusts me

Do you really think he will be there
for 2 more years?

Now that they took his free car away, I bet he is itching to get paid over the table.

ya
ya i hate ou just as much as the next die hard longhorn fan, but lets face it hes the best in the nation, u gotta respect that

by Olemissreb451 on Jul 21, 2006 1:01 PM CDT reply actions

Best in the Nation, maybe
but he is dirty, see free car.  Plus he is a Sooner, I have no problem talking bad about AP.  He is a great runner, and I have nothing bad to say about what he does on the field, except that his high CG running style could be prone to injuries.
But just because I have nothing bad to say about his on the field play, does not mean that I can't make fun of the fact he went to OU because that is where he could get a national championship.

Photoshopped
Actually, that picture is from December 2004, Peterson's freshman year. And it has been Photoshopped.
