5 top plays from tOSU 05

  1. The TE bobble by Hamby. Zwick gets the hot hand, makes a great read and sticks it in Hamby's chest. Hamby hears hoof beats, gets nervous and drops a very catchable TD. Even if Griffin had not hit him he drops it. Watch the play in slow mo or see a photo shot and the ball is falling through his hands before C. Griff gets there.
  2. VY to Swead and Musberger blows a gasket. It was a great play. The tOSU DBs were just sort of standing around waiting for their NFL paychecks, when Swead blows by and catches a perfectly thrown pass by VY. Great read by VY, because the entire tOSU defense bit on him running.
  3. Ramonce avoiding a safety. Raise your hand if that play took years off your life. Luckily for RT he can run like a banshee and made tOSU's gunners look like they were standing still. One of tOSU's tacklers actually wastes an opportunity to tackle RT by putting a hit on what looks to be C. Griff. Maybe next time he should concern himself with the ball carrier and waste less effort trying to look tough.
  4. The forced fields goals. Ok, so this isn't anything in particular, but it was the best defensive showing that Texas has put on since I've been watching them. This is not hyperbole. The Horn D stood tall in a the face of a hostile crowd with a short field, down almost the whole night and they snuffed tOSU's offense. It was a thing of beauty. Chizik earned his paycheck that night.
  5. JC's 36 gain on a pass. Not only was it a big play that flipped the field, which was very important. But it sent a message that Texas wasn't a one man show. Apparently tOSU didn't realize it the first time, because they ran that play until it didn't work anymore. The importance of it can't be understated. It kept tOSU's D on the field, flipped the kicking game and also looked really, really cool.
