Undisputed Champions?

Would you consider UF the undisputed champions? Boise State was the only undefeated team and actually received one first place in the AP Poll. I'd claim that in this century the only undisputed national champions have been us last year and Ohio State in 2002, because both teams received all of the AP votes, won the BCS, and the BCS game was clearly 1 vs. 2.

Here are the controveries:

2006 - Boise State is undefeated
2004 - Auburn is undefeated, left out of the game
2003 - USC wins the AP poll, LSU the BCS
2001 - Nebraska doesn't win the Big 12 but plays in the MNC, and Oregon feels left out
2000 - OU plays FSU, even though Miami beat FSU earlier that year and was ranked # 2 in the AP.

Any thoughts?

If there were some kind of percentage
you could give to these teams, I'd say it's about 90% Florida and 10% Boise State.

But that sounds stupid to say Florida is the 90% national champion, so the Gators are undisputed as per the current system.

Theyre the undisputed heavyweight champs
They took the belt from Ohio St, who took the belt from us, who took the belt from USC...

Boise St.
proved they could beat WAC competition and needed miracles and trickery to beat a pretty weak OU team that we know was not that good this year.  They would be destroyed by Florida.  So sick of hearing about them.  If they want a big claim and think they are a big deal, they need to get the wheels turning to move to a better, bigger conference and dance with the big boys on a regular basis.

I'm sick of hearing that
They're not pulling a rabbit out of a hat.  The plays they ran were completely legal, and shouldn't be continuously referred to as "trick plays."  OU could have run the same plays.

Parcells says
We should call them "Jap" plays...No offense to anyone.

dude, its a trick play
It's not line up, run between the tackles or pass to a route.  It's trickery, its a pitch, a fake pass.  Its a trick freaking play!  OU could have run the same plays but they didn't and I'm not defending OU, I am just saying that Boise needed to mix it up to beat a not-so-good OU team.  Thats all.

Up until the hook and ladder
They were lining up to OU and running right over them.  Quite honestly, it looked like Side Show Bob calling plays on the smurf field side.  Confusion and misdirection, power running, and play action to keep a game close if you don't pull away, then pull the rabbit out of the hat right if and when you need it.

However, if that team had to go through an SEC or Big X schedule, where you have to be THAT on point every single game in order to win, they would compete but not be undefeated.

Florida = Champs
I loved the Broncos story this year, but Sagarin has their schedule strength at 90. 90?!

The Fiesta Bowl finish will be remembered for a long time, but even Boise State's coach said he thought they ended up ranked about where they should be.
