Next Years Schedule
Its pretty early and i'm already looking into our schedule next year. I'm thinking that it is going to be a two to three game season for us.
The only games that we can lose if Colt doesn't get hurt are OU, Nebraska, and A&M. It looks like OU will be bad next year and bringing in a scrub qb but still they will have a good "D" and it is a rivalry game. But stll with our O there is no way OU scores enough points to beat us.
I don't know about Nebraska but they will certainly be alot better next year and they will have a veteran qb in the Arizona St. guy. Their D is going to better and it's going to be tough but i see us winning that game to. I see us winning this game but i will take it of the list of maybe games depending on how Nebraska plays at the beginning of the year. The only reason this is on here is because they have a close talent edge with us and thats it. If we tackle we win the game.
The final game is the A&M game and this would be an automatic win if it was in Austin but since it is at Kyle Field it will be tough. It depends on how our "D" has played during the course of the year. If we play lights out or above average we win the game easily. If we don't than it will put pressure on our offense and Colt. We have to force McGee to beat us. The guy can't complete a pass to save his life. Duffman put nine guys in the box and take your chances with their slow scrub white guys on the outside. If UT forces McGee to win the game its a blowout without a doubt.
There are other games as well like Tech which always gives us problems but it is at home. With their offense it doesn't matter if we play on the moon they could still pull it off. This is the game that i sweat the most every year. Sooner or later they are going to get one again and it makes me nervous. Remember what happened 4 years ago when Chance came to save the day. Again its the defense if they play well coming into the game then we win it but if not look out.
There is also and Okie State and that game will also come down to our "D".
Some people are talking about the "BCS slayer" TCU but no chance. They can't score enough to beat us especially at home as well.
Pretty much our whole season comes down to our defense we play above average defense we go undefeated and earn a trip to New Orleans. If not we can still win all of our games, but it will to much to ask. Somewhere we might bog down and we need the "D" to step up. We can't rely on our offense to bail us out every time to much to ask. We are not USC of two years ago.
I'm predicting 13-0 and regular season victory and a trip to New Orleans. Who ever comes out of the Big 12 North is going to get crushed simple as that.
Its kind of ironic because every year since 2001 i have thought we would go undefeated. I think i am like an Alabama fan because every year i expect us to go undefeated. Hopefully i am right this year.

Nebraska and Tech at home
If Stoops is back, I would never take OU as a given, he gets the most out of his players, who ever he has at QB.
At OkSt could be a trap game, just like K St was this year, and they don't have Les to lose the game for them anymore.
Overall I think we can go undefeated, but it is way too early to put much confidence in that.

My prediction- 12-2
Other than that it should be standard UT football and an Orange Bowl victory.

I guess I'll take a BCS victory.

For those not in the choir...
For me, it is already dubbed the most bittersweet day of 2007.

Like I said, I hope Texas kicks their ass, I just have this feeling that it will be early in the season and you just don't know.

Youth and inexperience
I fully expect next year's team to lose either the A&M or OU game -- not because of inferior talent, but because of the growing pains that we will likely experience.
In addition, I expect we will go 2 for 3 against Nebraska, Tech, and Okie State. I expect that just like in many seasons, injuries may mount and cost us a game during tough stretch late in the year.
Thus a 10 - 2 regular season (2nd or 3rd in the Big XII south) is the likeliest case.
That being said, I think '07 will set us up for a great run to a BCS bowl (dare I say BCS title game) in '08. Think about it -- more cohesive defensively, Colt as a Jr, talented RBs (Jamaal as a Sr), an experienced OL with Webb, Hills etc, and studs all over the defense.
2007 will likely be another solid year for the Horns, but I think the real year Horns fans should set their sights on is '08. Anything we do above 10 wins in '07 will just be icing on the cake.
