Reggie Bush fined for antics in playoff game...

Given that there were a few posts about this after that game between the Bears and Saints, I have to say I'm glad they went back and acted on this.

I was suprised he wasn't penalized at the time. It seemed like textbook taunting: he pointed at his defender, flipped into the endzone, and then did a little dance. I know he didn't have a sharpie, but still.

League Fines Reggie Bush for Being Fast

Reggie Bush should have been penalized a fifteen yard penalty just for embarrassing the bears D.... 88 Yards

(remember the only reason he won the hiesman is the weak Fresno state D)

Look, I understand the NFL tries to sap all the enjoyment out of the game, but this is just goofy. How can the league fine Bush for taunting during the play? In the future, are we going to see players docked for hurting other players' feelings?

What do you think would have happend in the 80's for this finger pointing?

I would have...

...if I spent much time following pro-ball, which looks like it's about to disappear up its own ass with self-importance. But then I also take the view that players pay for taunting not via fines, but when the opposition catch up with them.

Look at that hit that Bush took early against Philly -- I know it wasn't for taunting, but with his money I'd think $5k would be a cheap alternative to having the third grade knocked out of me. And if it knocked out any knowledge of agent-related chicanery, so much the better.
