Texas 2007 Commits: Full Recruiting Board

As mentioned in the Morning Coffee, the only name left in the mix is Dallas Skyline DB Christian Scott. Looks like a better than even chance Mack seals the deal, though don't expect to hear until late this week.

Full recruiting board below. Thoughts on the class as a whole encouraged in the comments. If it's not Mack Brown's best class, it's damn close. The talent on both lines and in the secondary is truly disgusting. If even half of them live up to their hype, Texas will be fielding some truly special talent by 2008, and perhaps sooner, in some cases.

All stars and state rankings as selected by Rivals. For up to the second news and notes on Texas recruiting, visit and subscribe to Orangebloods.

The thing I notice...
...is that no position dominates the slots.  In the past we've had the Class of the recievers, then the class of beef, and then the DL class.  It appears, at least, that we are just filling in the gaps, and that's a good thing.

Only Complaints
God Bless Mack for giving him his recruiting talents!  Go get Christian Scott - he may be needed in 2007 with how green the secondary will be.  Only complaints:

Why 3 TEs when you have Jermichael Finley?  They don't seem big enough to convert to the OL.

Why extnd an offer to Tyrell Higgens?  Mack has done great with some 3 starts like Colt - but 2 stars?

TEs
I think 2 of the 3 TEs can play on both sides of the ball.  I guess we will see where they end up.

Boy, that's beautiful
It looks like the lineup for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
So take that.

Wide Recievers/Linebackers
We are gonna be overloaded with good wide recievers next year.  We have several good ones returning, 3 4 star guys coming in, and John Chiles, who we need to utilize at something (I could see him being a great wide reciever, he could burn defenses on double reverses too).  Some of these good players probably will barely see the field next year, but I can live with that problem.

We also have a lot of capable linebackers, but no stars.  I can't help but wish we would land a huge 5 star recruit at this position, someone who could be come a dominant Redding or DJ type of player.  I guess with all these guys, there's a chance that one of them will step up into that role.

that's what god invented the redshirt for.

You mean, like...
"I can't help but wish we would land a huge 5 star recruit at this position..."

You mean like Sergio Kindle?  #5 player in the entire country last year?  That type of LB?  Supposedly, Keenan Robinson is that type of LB, too.  I can't wait to see him on the field.  He had a beast of a Sr. season.

If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.

I don't think Chiles should redshirt...
maybe one of the other guys.

I hope Sergio gets healthy and becomes a beast next year, we could've used him this year.  I guess I had just become spoiled with great linebackers.
