SAN ANTONIO -- No. 1 prospect Joe McKnight (River Ridge, La./John Curtis), a Louisiana native inexplicably on the West squad instead of the East, told ESPN.com that he has narrowed down his list of schools, and Notre Dame is not among them.

He plans to visit Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU, USC and possibly Miami. Also add Texas to the mix, which he'll visit if they offer him.

Horns Recruits are trying to sway him

... and evidently he's talked on the phone with RB Coach Ken Rucker, according to a for-pay article at Scout.com.  These kinds of stories surface every year, and rarely amount to anything.
