Colt
He is questionable for Saturday.
Is this good or bad? Is this the end of colt's career if Chiles has a good performance? What does this do to our gameplan if he can't play?
Can Chiles even throw the ball yet?
Sorry, for all the questions but that is what Colt being questionable leaves us with.

Who knows?
Chiles could conceivably earn a starting role if he absolutely rocked Dallas, but that's extremely unlikely to happen. More probably, Chiles would exhibit impressive speed but inaccuracy with the pass, and he would frustrate fans by making his share of rookie mistakes. And we'd probably lose (although we'll probably lose either way).
As for whether he can throw the ball: who knows? He's only had a handful of attempts, several of which were in the stressful final quarter against KSU, when he had to go for high-return, low-probability throws. Still, he hit Finley for 17 yards. But at the same time, his first pass hit Collins below the waist, and one on Saturday was behind Shipley's back. We haven't seen enough of him to know whether those plays reveal authentic weaknesses, or just random errors due to jitters.
I really hope Colt is ready by Saturday. I'm a huge Chiles fan and think he's our best shot for doing anything spectacular in the near future. But he needs to work his way in slowly--a set here and there, a quarter when we have a comfortable lead, etc. He doesn't need to start a game we're sure to lose.

if past in any indication he will play
every time he's been banged up before he's played, even when his effectiveness was limited. he's playing very poorly but given his toughness and the train wreck that would be chiles' first start against FOU you have to imagine he will play if his arms are attached.
the real problem both for the team and for his health is how a mediocre line can keep him from getting killed. given how many shots he's taking, a second concussion is a real possibility and could cause long-term damage.

To play or not to play Colt
If he is questionable, then is it a good idea to play him? We saw last year against the Aggies what a 70-75% McCoy does. If we get that same McCoy against the Sooners, then we are toast. Joe Schad on College Football Live said that Colt told him that he believes he will be ready and play on Saturday. This makes me nervous. Is it just me or does Colt seem to put his wanting to play in front of the team's interests in winning.
Obviously, we don't have much experience at QB, but if Colt is NOT 100% then I'm in favor of Chiles or Harris getting the nod. If Colt is 100% then play him.
Does anybody have concern's over his lack of arm strength? Do you think that maybe we only dink and dunk because Colt can't throw a nice long throw down field? I like Colt, but I'm having doubts. I know some of his errors are due to a young offensive line, but bad things just keep happening.
Hook 'em!!! \m/

There was a short post after the...
Arkie St. game that mentioned CM got plowed on an option play in the second quarter. The guy (or gal) was about 10 rows up and said something to the order of he was knocked silly and something about his eyes. That could have made sense out of the poor second half and some of the poor decisions till Rice. Remember ol’ Mackovick was in a fog for a few weeks. This could well be #2 this season. What’s to say he didn’t get one against the agros?
While I’m not sure the answer to this Saturday is Chiles, it is a better option that getting CM hurt worse. Putting JC in too early could have worse consequences down the line if the thieves get to him (or he is not ready to pass in the big time). All in all, it’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
We need a miracle.

I'm nervous and hope I'm wrong
My aggie friend was saying, and unfortunately I agree, I see a real similarity to '03 in this RRS. Instead of Chance Mock throwing an INT to cause the switch to the very talented backup QB, I'm afraid Colt gets rocked. The fans support Chiles coming into the game. Chiles looks good on the ground for 75+ yards, but throws some picks and has a costly goal line fumble. OU wins big.
Lord, I hope I'm wrong.
It's 7:22 EST, I'm 16 Nauts of the cost of Boston, and OU STILL SUCKS!
