Look to the north... for an example of how not to do things. As much as we BONers complain about the ingenuity and boldness of Greg Davis, Mack Brown, things could be worse. Nebraska's football fortunes have collapsed as fast or faster than any traditional power in the country, so, in mid-season, before a complete damage assessment can even be made, the school fires the athletic director, who got a 5-year contract extension 4 MONTHS AGO. Nebraska fires AD
Tom Callahan and all his assistants should be checking their respective savings accounts as can there be any doubt they will be getting pink slips for Thanksgiving? What I thought was most interesting was the quote from Pederson, the fired AD, on the day in 2003 that he fired the previous coach, Frank Solich.
"I refuse to let the program gravitate into mediocrity," Pederson said the day he announced Solich's firing. "We won't surrender the Big 12 to Oklahoma and Texas."
How about Missouri and Oklahoma State?
Feel any better? Probably not.
