Boy, did we miss out
I live in Columbia, MO where the Missouri Tigers call home. I am a big Colt McCoy suppoter until he falters in a new sytem. But DAMN, that Chase Daniel is amazing. For those of you who don't know, he is the starting QB for the MU Tigers and formerly played High school for Southlake Carroll, TX.
The man has stats (on pace for almost 4000 yrds and almost 40 tds), leadership, and is a winner(has his team at 4-0 going for 5-0 against Nebraska right now). He will go down as the greatest passer in MU history, and he can run as well (listed at 4.5 in the 40).
Now, I understand he is in his dream system, the system he played in High school, and maybe he couldn't run this F'ed up texas system, but Texas should have tried harder to get him. They did put some effort to get him, but for a QB that had a line like this his JR. year in high school:
Yds Avg TD Pct Yds TD Int
1,529 5.2 18 66.0 3,681 42 9
I just wish Texas had the guy.

how tall is he?
if we missed out on anyone it's ryan mallet up in michigan right now
it's not the easiest thing to sell qbs with nfl ambitions on a run based system
and until this year that's all we've ever been
it'll take some time before we can change how we're percieved
but it'll happen

he's only 6'
but he is 230 and has yet to be injured. Seeing over the o-line has yet to be a problem. He is way better than ANY QB in the country, including Mallet. He is just one of those players you have to watch in a game to get the ful impression. And this Nebraska game would be a good game to watch, seeing as he is lighting them up. Also, Chase came out the same year Colt did.
Did I mention, he is going up against OU next week?

They had a guy
I watched Daniel play at Carroll and he is darn impressive. But the texas problem is that they don't develop people for the long term. Maybe that is just how college football is these days. Probably better that Daniel's is not at Texas, at least for him.

I don't know
the guy came in right away at MU and split snaps with Brad Smith and learned well. The guy does what it takes to win and tries extreamly hard. In high school he only lost one game as a High School starter, thats what Texas needs, a guy who wins at all costs.
