Volleyball Update

Last night the Gazelles swept Tech in dominating fashion.  Game 3 was close but half our starters sat out that game.  Heather Kisner donned the libero jersey and some of the subs that haven't seen much action got some court time.  The victory was significant in that the Horns will finish no worse than 2nd place in the conference.  However, the team goal is to win the Big 12.  With remaining matches at Baylor, at Iowa State and home against K-State; the goal is within reach.

Saturday's Match
Saturday the Horns take on Baylor in Waco.  If any of you are in the area and plan to attend, note that the match time has moved to 3pm.  Baylor has been playing some teams tough, going to 5 games in some matches.  I expect them to play us tough at their place.  This match may actually go to 4 games, but expect Elliott to have the team focused on taking them out in 3.

Senior Night
Saturday November 24 at 6:30 will be Senior Night against #12 Kansas State.  If you are in Austin for the holiday weekend, you should get to Gregory.  If you have family in town bring 'em!  This match will probably be one of the most competitive & entertaining of the season.  The Horns will be looking to go undefeated at Gregory this season.  With the students out for the holiday weekend, it's important we get a good crowd to support the team as they clinch the Big 12 Championship.

NCAA First and Second Round
November 29 - December 2 is the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds.  Texas should be no lower than a #2 seed in their region and quite possibly they will get a #1 seed depending on what happens in the Pac-10.  I would expect Texas to host the 1st and 2nd rounds in Austin.  UT is taking applications for tickets to the First and Second round.  Season ticket holders can log onto texasboxoffice.com and hit the Season Renewals link on the left side to renew their season ticket location for the matches.  Paper applications will be available at the Kansas State match or you can call Texas Box Office.
