Orange and Sugar Bowls want Texas
I don't have a link to the actual audio, but heres the link to the post about it on Orangebloods. Apparently, if as long as we beat A&M, they would pick us for financial reasons. Of course we still have a chance at the Big XII title, but this is still good news.

Depends on outcome of ACC
I'd rather go to the Holiday or Cotton Bowl to play USC /ASU or SEC No. 3 than, say, Virginia or Boston College in the Orange Bowl. Virginia Tech would be fun, though.
I'd love a Sugar Bowl appearance.

I don't know
Virginia might be interesting. I'd love to pay them back for their 37-13 shellacking of us in 1996. Just my thoughts... I haven't liked the Cavs since.

That was a bad payback.
I was there when we beat them 68-0 in 1977. Watched on TV when Dawson punched it in from 50 against the wind to steal the victory 17-16 in 1995.
The 37-13 loss was the final time we've played them, so you got the bitter dregs.
In '77, Fred started off with a 44-0 win over Boston College, so after two weeks the Horns were 112-0. The next week they beat Rice 72-15 for a staggering 184-15 points edge. That's about as hot a start as Texas has ever had, certainly the best three games in a row Fred's teams had in offensive production.
Whoa, try this: 1946, Blair Cherry started the year 3-0 with wins over Missouri (42-0), Colorado (76-0) nad Oklahoma State (54-6) for a 172-6 edge. Nearly as good. And they weren't even ranked. But when they beat #1 OU the next week 20-13, they rose to #3. None of this moseying up to the top 10 bullshit.
For another great start, try DKR in 1959, when they skunked Nebraska (20-0), Maryland (26-0) and California (33-0) to start the season, then beat #13 OU 19-12 (Texas was ranked #4 and rose to #3).
All of these throw the current season's start into relief and make us realize what a tough road this team has followed. They should be pretty damn tough and gritty.

Sugar Bowl
I've heard different info, specifically that the Sugar Bowl would take a 3-loss Florida team over anybody else because of the Tim Tebow-likely Heisman winner-factor. That would suck in my opinion to award a 3-loss team a BCS berth, but such is life in the corrupt world of the BCS.

Disagree
I'd rather play VTech/UVA/BC in the Orange Bowl than Hawaii in the Sugar or Auburn in the Cotton.

I want to win the XII!
And then I want to beat someone significant in the Fiesta. Good news is that we'll get an at-large bid opponent, which means no lame ACC champ. Bad news is it might be Hawaii or Boise. Good news is if we beat them, we can make funny T-shirts for ten years about OU losing to Boise.

Hawaii / Boise St
Will go to the Sugar Bowl, if they qualify at all. Sugar Bowl has the last selection this year.

Texas vs. USC/Oregon/ASU
We could see this in the Fiesta Bowl. The key is that OU wins the South and KU wins its last two games. That sends KU to the BCS title game, and leaves the Fiesta to pick from OU with 3 losses (2 in their last 3 games), 10-2 Texas and 10-2 Missouri. Texas is a much better financial fit for the bowl, and Missouri would be fresh off a loss to KU. If ASU wins the Pac 10 and Oregon wins out, the Fiesta would probably take the Ducks, and if not the Ducks, they would take USC. If USC wins the Pac 10, they go to the Rose Bowl, ASU probably has just 2 losses, and Oregon would have 2 or 3 losses. The Fiesta wouldn't mind taking either the Ducks or the Devils. Oregon's and OU's losses put the 'Horns in EXCELLENT position to get to Arizona. At this point, I would be upset if they didn't get to Glendale.

Sugar Bowl would be ideal
if only for the fact that I've already got hotel reservations in the French Quarter for Dec 28th-31st (but may have to check out early if Texas goes Cotton)

Sugar or Fiesta?
It will be hard for the Horns to play in the Sugar Bowl if Kansas or Missouri play for the national title. If either of them are in the title game, then the Fiesta Bowl and the Sugar bowl, assuming their opponent is LSU, will make their selections first and second having lost their natural tie in teams.
The bowl whose team is #1 in the BCS (Sugar) would go first but is precluded from taking another Big 12 team.
C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.
The Sugar Bowl would likely take Georgia if they are 10-2 or possibly even Florida at 9-3.
After those two replacement selections, then the Orange gets the first pick to play against the ACC champ, then the Fiesta, and then the Sugar.
So, the Orange would be picking between the Big East champ or an at-large from the Pac 10. If its West Virginia, I'd expect the Orange to take the Mountaineers, which would leave the Fiesta to take ASU, USC, Oregon and the Sugar to take Hawaii, assuming they are in the top 12 or above the ACC champ in the final BCS rankings.
This is all assuming that Kansas or Missouri plays for the title. If OU wins the Big 12, then they would automatically go to the Fiesta and Texas could end up in Miami or New Orleans.
