Weird/Proud moment...
Flipped on the TV and hear... "Vince Young rolls out, complete to Bo Scaife, close to a first down." ....Flipping channels... turned back and heard... "Selvin Young with the carry, brought down by Michael Griffin from the University of Texas."
All I could think was.... nice.
I love
listening to Jaws. While there are times where he criticizes Vince, he doesnt go over the top, like one Merrill Hodge(does Merrill sound like a girls name to anyone else?) and just try to destroy one of the most impressive players in the game. Jaws is just a joy to listen to compared to hodgepodge's loud obnoxious voice...
anyone agree?
I do
It is odd. Earlier today I heard Merril criticize VY last week and say he has not improved in NFL at all. Then tonight, Jaws claims last week he really saw how good VY has become. Were they watching different games.
They must have
And tonight, Hodge will say, is just an fluke, 12-15 130 and a TD just before the half. Not bad, I'd say...
arggg.....
Stuck at work. I'm watching stats online. How's Vince and everyone look? Stats are good, but I'm obviously not seeing the plays.
Vince looks really good
He just made a great throw rolling to his left that the receiver dropped and another throw that Scaife caught but was called incomplete when it was clearly caught and not challenged by the booth...All Texas players have been mentioned so far.
I hate that rule
I think coaches should be able to challenge a play no matter if it is inside of two minutes or not. Honestly, when do a lot of the biggest plays happen? I would wager to say that they come in the last 2-3 minutes of each half.
Re
Don't forget Ahmard Hall, who's out for this game.
Crowder also stopped Vince cold on a zone read...it's almost like he's seen it happen before.
And seriously, Vince has the worst group of receivers in the league. If there's any reason to compare him to Alex Smith, that's it right there. Worst. Receivers. Ever.
For us old timers...
Lets not forget another Longhorn ex mentioned in tonite's game...Alan Lowrey...Titans special teams coach and former UT quarterback
Another dropped pass
after Vince stepped away from a tackler...
What a weird game
I'm from Colorado and an obsessed Horn. Not only am I watching my two favorite NFL teams, but they're both loaded Longhorns.
Vince is playing really well tonight. Sucks that his receivers can't catch and they've dropped 2 or 3 potential TDs.

He's not that bad
Well I at least respect him a bit. He randomly started talking about the Texans and how they will be a tough match for the Broncos in their upcoming schedule. I appreciated that.
Titans need a WR... badly. Maybe they should take a chance at Mike Williams. Maybe draft Sweed?

WRs
Titans were smart not to make a big splash in free agency this past offseason. Vince still needed another year or two to progress before they went out and spent big bucks on a WR. They are waaaaaay under the cap and have tons of financial flexibility the next several years, so I'd assume they'll make their move to upgrade the WR in the next couple of years.
2008 FA WRs: Bernard Barrion, Brandon Stokeley, Patrick Crayton, Bryant Johnson (AZ Cardinals, quite good just not noticed because of Bolding and Fitzgerald), Terrance Copper (New Orleans, good special teams player as well).
2009 FA WRs: Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Roscoe Parrish, Shaun Macdonald
Hopefully their young guys will get better and there are some WRs who are eager to come play with Vince in the next couple of years. He looked great last night though.
