Would you root for an Oklahoma team...
... if the Sonics moved to Oklahoma City? I watched the Sonics home opener last night, lost to Suns, and the crowd was chanting "Save our Sonics". Well, the owner of the Seattle Sonics ignored them and filed today to move the team. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/s...
Durant looked much better in his second career NBA game, finishing 11 of 23 leading the team with 27 points.
So I know this move was mentioned in the other Durant(Sonics) thread, but I figured I'd ask the question to all of you that I've been asking myself. Can I fight back the upchuck reflex and root for a team located in Oklahoma? I'm just not sure I could. I know it shouldn't matter, I mean when a Longhorn gets drafted by an NFL team that I dislike I feel sorry for him but I still root for his personal achievements. But there is no NFL team in Oklahoma, and I hate Oklahoma beyond reason. So, if Durant and the Sonics get moved to Okie City, I dont know what I'll do.
Guys, any help?

Don't care about professional Oklahoma sports
(If there were any)
It's Norman. It's OU. It's those disgusting creatures in crimson.

Can we pass a law
that when a franchise moves, it has to change it's regionally inspired name? Is Bud Adams the only intelligent owner in the history of sport?
Utah needs to give New Orleans its name back, the Lakers can certainly find a better moniker in the nation's second largest city, and there is not a Grizzly bear anywhere within a thousand miles of Memphis - not even at the zoo, I checked.

And when they leave...
... They have to give up the rights to that name if another team moves into that city.
I miss my Oilers.
Also, KD doesn't hold the same mystique to me that VY does. He was here for one year, didn't win any championships, didn't get us farther than we've been before. At most, he made last year's basketball season more interesting. VY couldn't have gone to a team I had more bitter feelings towards, and yet they're now my second favorite team (Go Bears!). KD was just some kind of passing interest to me.

Well put
He was here for one year because he new an assistant coach in Austin and David Stern applied the rule that kids must have a year between high school and pro
It was fun as hell to watch that kid last year. But even though he was named player of the year by a bazillion organizations, I think TJ Ford had a way bigger impact in Texas
Plus, KD was a kid from another part of the country who (timewise) wasn't here even a year
