My official petition

To the board of directors, athlete director and booster's for the University of Texas.

This petition is to force the immediate termination of offensive coordinator Greg Davis and co-defensive coordinators Duane Akina and Larry MacDuff.

The petitioners propose the hiring of Alabama offensive coordinator Major Applewhite as the new offensive coordinator and Washington Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray as new defensive coordinator.

I agree but

GD and Akina definitely need to go.

But Major just isn't the answer - yet. I'm with you that Major would be nice to have, but I'm not sure he's ready.

And I'm not 100% convinced he would even want to come to UT - at this point. So many think Major is the answer to our offensive problems. While "we" would like to see it happen, we don't know that Major wants to come back. I would hope and think he would but it's not given.

Just my opinion.

jerry gray would be nice

But he's been a candidate each of the last 4(?) times we've needed a new DC.  Each time, close but no cigar.  There must be something about him that doesn't sit well with Mack.

What are the chances Akina gets fired?

According to Kirk Bohls, Akina could get fired after this season.  What are the chances of this happening?

I also hear Greg Davis is a candidate for a few head coaching jobs, including SMU.  This is great to hear, as he will not get fired from UT any time soon.

We're Texas, we can get the best.  Greg Davis is mediocre, and Akina sucks (I don't know who would argue with me on that).  Let's all hope for a little change.
