Gazelles Win Big 12 Championship

The Gregory Gazelles' 3-0 sweep of Kansas State on Saturday night in Austin gave them a Big 12 co-championship with Nebraska, the 'Horns first conference title in 10 years.

Congrats to the Gazelles on a terrific season.

Texas gets the overall #4 seed and #1 seed in the Florida regional. Texas will play this Friday against Texas State and will take on the winner of New Mexico State and LSU in Austin before heading to Gainesville where Florida and USC will likely be waiting.

This seeding and regional were exactly what I was hoping for keeping us out of Penn State and Stanford regionals. One of Florida's big hitters was injured in a match yesterday so not sure if she will be back in the lineup this weekend or not.

ESPN TV Schedule

The 1st and 2nd rounds are usually not televised. I can't remember if texassports.tv is able to broadcast the games or not, but I'd check there.

ESPNU will carry some of the regional semifinals and all the regional finals. ESPN2 and ESPNU will carry the national semifinals and final.

The champion Gazelles, the soccer team, the great start in men's basketball, and the excitement around Coach G's inaugural season in women's basketball are helping to heal the sting of that ugly football game in College Station. Thanks, kids.
