How we finish up the season
With the end of our season wrapping up, I'm pretty curious as to how our team finishes the season. If we win out, there's a good shot at getting a BCS bowl, lose a couple and we might find ourselves back in San Antonio again. Vote honestly. Obviously, we all want to see the 'Horns win out.
As PB has pointed out, who knows which team will show up.

The Tech Game Depends on
our questionable at best Secondary. I am was so suprised to see that our Secondary was lacking this season after so many great years of star DBs. Everyone knows that Texas Tech does nothing but throw the ball. Can our Secondary ball up and busts some mouths of some skinny punk bitches running quick slants and short outs all game long? Personally, I can't stand Tech's method of moving the ball. It works at times, but as far as making for good entertainment, its lame chickin' shit.
Then again, halfback draws every other play tends to be pretty dull as well. Hint hint Greg Davis. How bout a pitch or a reverse or an occasional option.
Disclaimer: Unless J. Charles busts one or two for 75 yards.

Tech
Tech scares me, just because this is their superbowl.
But two thinks give me comfort:
- This is a home game, and despite the discussion last week, it still give us a big advantage.
- Watching the Colorado games this year, CU managed to beat Tech at home, and this is the team that just let Missouri pass at will on them for 421 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Beating themselves
Tech has shown this year that they can have a great offense at times (see OK state game) and a lame one at others (above mentioned CU). It does give me some comfort that Tech definitely has the ability to beat themselves which would render the argument of how futile our secondary is, well, futile. But time after time I think we've seen teams always give Texas their best shot, no matter what's gone on with them in previous games. We can't expect anything less than a full aerial assault by the pirates of Lubbock and this, frankly, scares the crap out of me. If Leach unveils a bag of tricks and they get momentum going, watch out, it could be a very long night.

How we finish up the season
With a bang, and not with a whimper, hopefully.

We MUST get pressure on Harrell.
That's how we've beaten Tech in the past. And that requires the front four has time to get there. So, the DBs normally play up on the receivers to take away the short passes, so the QB can't make the 3-second pass and the linemen can get there.
Normally, I would expect we'll drop a LB and add a DB but I don't know how much the injury situation will allow us to do that. Here's where I would want Kindle, Muck and Norton on the field; Tech eats slow LBs for lunch.
However, these are abnormal times, so I don't know what the hell the Horns will do Saturday.
In addition, on offense we need at least 35 points and possibly 55 if we can't stop Tech's offense.
I still have the VHS video of the '95 game when Tech was killing everyone (pre-Leach) and we shut them down cold, 48-7, so anything can happen - and it can turn out good, too.
That's the year Tech decided to run out of a field goal situation, the holder pitched to Tony Rogers, the kicker, and Tony Brackens totally obliterated him the sidelines; still worth seeing after all these years. Also a prelude to the Brackens hit on Mackovic.
The pressing defense was wonderful but we don't have the DBs that team did. Same scheme we used to finally beat Houston, too.

Kindle
It will be interesting to see the direction this poll takes when Kindle's status for Tech is announced.
Then again, this Saturday is "Senior Day"...hopefully that title doesn't apply to playing time.

Greg Robinson...
...provided the template of how to beat Texas Tech. Gene Chizik was smart enough to put his ego in park while he utilized Robinson's defensive moves. Hopefully, Akina will be equally wise.
Tech has played the same kind of sorry schedule we played and their results are similar, though they lost to OU-Lite by 4, while we pulled out a 3-point victory literally in the final minute.
Both Tech and Aggie look like they will finish 3-5 in the Big-XII.
