Top 10 Programs$$

I just saw this and thought it was interesting.
http://www.fanblogs.com/ncaa/007263.php Texas is #1 in revenue and #2 in profit. OSU is #2 in revenue, but I wonder what they are doing with all that money, they are making $15 million a year less than us.

OSU

I think they have more sports, like fencing and field hockey and stuff like that...

Don't forget

the fact that with the money they get from football and basketball they fund their entire athletic program.

They have good ...

Ice hockey and lacrosse. Don't forget about still making payments to Maurice Clarett for his freshman national championship campaign!

Football
I think it is just college football profits, so I assume only other football expenses are taken into consideration.  I don't think that Georgia is just pocketing the money, I'm sure they're spending it on non-revenue sports as well.

We could use...

... a little less profit and a little less advertising in DKR.  That place is dedicated as a memorial to fallen soldiers, but I had to look that up on MB-TF.  It only took me two seconds of looking around the stadium to notice it was also dedicated to the brave wagoneers of Wells Fargo and the heroic coffee brewers at Bengal's.

Growing up, I only fed Jared Norton paper. That's why he eats plays.

Anyone get there early...

To TTU game for senior day?  They tried to honor some veterans (Denius was out there) and, not only did half the crowd not even stand, but right after the announcer said something about how we should remember that DKR-Memorial is dedicated as a memorial to fallen soldiers, who valued liberty over their own lives, etc.  (quite a stirring little speech) the vets started walking off the field to our cheers, and then BOOM!  Time Warner Cable ad starts blasting over the Adzillatron.  This is WHILE THE VETS ARE WALKING OFF THE FIELD, RIGHT AFTER WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS STADIUM IS AN HONORABLE MEMORIAL TO NOBLE, VALIANT VETERANS!!!  I was so pissed.  No more TV commercials (or commercials made for TV, or commercials at all) on that damned board.

Florida is working on setting up a permanent

endowment for all of their athletic scholarships.

The only other school that I know is making a serious attempt to do that is Stanford.

If Florida accomplishes that, I think their revenue will go through the roof, b/c their expenses will be cut in half, if not more.
