Looking Ahead
I'm back from San Diego after a damn fun trip to watch Texas wax some Arizona State ass. With my cousin still in town through tomorrow, I won't have time to recap everything until later this weekend. The schedule, then:
Tomorrow morning - very brief Wisconsin preview, plus an open thread. I'll be around watching the game; AW's going to be on a plane heading back to Austin from Manhattan.
Saturday night - I'll post some thoughts on the football team's outstanding win, plus a separate post on the trip itself, including a gallery of photos of 54b and I acting like fools in San Diego.
Sunday night - Independence Bowl Drinking Game! Join Orson and I for the first half of CU-Alabama as we take shot after shot for various predictable hilarities from the broadcast.

Closing in on ND
Now that the season's over, it's interesting to note that with Notre Dame's meltdown in 2007, UT has moved to within 4 games of tying ND for 2nd place in all-time wins.
All-time, ND has 824 wins while UT has 820. Michigan is still #1 with 868 wins (not counting their upcoming bowl), a record not likely to be approached during our lifetimes barring a decade-long string of bad seasons.
823 wins?
This site says we have 823 wins (813 up to 2006):stassen
We are 1 win behind ND.
Official page says 820, but hmmmm
According to the "official" record in this pdf file at mackbrown-texasfootball, we had 819 going into the Holiday Bowl (see also the team records here). The Stassen page has two forfeits and two "probably forfeits" that he counts as wins but UT doesn't.
