Reggie Bush

Am I the only person in the world that thinks Reggie Bush is overrated? It just seems like he has one good play a game and then many bad plays, but he is all people talk about.

I agree / disagree
He'll make one or two good plays and then that's all everyone wants to see and talk about.  Kind of like the Rose Bowl, when he broke that run down the sideline.  He was shut down for most of the game and when he finally broke that TD, ABC started a highlight-reel of him with background music saying "The greatest of all time".  It still annoys me everytime I watch it.

But I also think that even though he only makes a few good plays, on any one of those, he can break it for a TD.  If you have someone on your team who has the potential to give you 7 points on a simple play, that's pretty damn good in the NFL.  Like the Chicago game, it was a good play call, but I don't think just anybody breaks it for the TD.

I agree
I think he's an average to poor RB, but an above average WR. If you watch, just about all his big plays this season came from him catching the ball, or running the ball on a reverse from the slot.

Move him to WR and use him like Steve Smith/Randle El (minus throwing it) and he'd be an effective weapon. He'll always just be an average runner. Never the barry sanders people tried to make him out to be.

Agree
The media loves him and USC, but the truth is he can't withstand a full NFL season of punishment.  He fits perfectly in the role at New Orleans where he is not expected to be an every-down back.

That SOB is faster than greased pig-shit though when he gets into the open field.

To me he is sort of like Tiger Woods...great athlete who I could enjoy watching play but the freakin' media drools over him so much that it gets to the point where you are sick of hearing about him and want someone else to win.

Tiger
Woods is the greatest golfer in the world and has been for basically the last decade. He will also go down as the greatest golfer of all time by the time he retires. If you enjoy watching pure greatness, then tune in any time Tiger tees it up.

Bush, on the other hand, is merely a exremely talented rookie back/wideout. He has the ability to score on any touch, but no one is talking about him as the best of anything.

I understand you comparing how the media drools over both but they are similiar in no other categories.

True
No doubt about it - that is the only comparison.  I would just like to be able to watch golf and not hear how many times Tiger wiped his ass that day - he is unbelieveable to watch for sure, and has a hot wife (it's worth watching just to get a glimpse of her).  Just like it gets old watching college football on ABC and hearing every 30 seconds how USC will win the national championship for the next 30 years.
