Blue Tooth Earpiece

Does anybody think it is stupid for people to wear those stupid bluetooth earpieces when they aren't on the phone. They walk around looking like retarded cyborgs. The earpieces are meant to be used as a hands-free device, not an ugly fashion accessory.

One problem....

how do you expect to hear the phone ring if it is not in your ear??? My phone goes to silent whenever I turn on the bluetooth. However, realizing that one does look like a major douche with that appendage (SP?) attached to their ear, I choose to only use mine while driving and definitely NOT while eating in a restaurant or strolling down the street.

When I see them, especially last year

when they weren't quite as prevelant, I'd think, "we are the borg. you will be assimilated. resistance if futile."

However, for the record, if they weren't in your ear when someone called, and you hands were full, it'd be kind of a drag digging for it in your backpack or pocket ya know.
