I FEEL SICK.....

I forgot how miserable it makes me when we lose to Aggies in anything! And losing by 20 is definitely a diarrheic feeling. Is throwing up in my mouth a viable comparison? If not, will someone please tell me the equivalent of losing to this cult-imposing JUCO?

did anyone else see
the posters of "the shot" they showed during the game? that kind of made me gag a little bit.

Acie Law's game-winner
over Gibson in B/CS last year.

i was at a bar in Houston where i was surprised to be grossly outnumbered by Aggie "basketball fans".  it was definitely upsetting, even as much as i had prepared myself mentally for the probable loss.

Shit man,
If they had pictures of "the shot" from the WVU tourney game last year, I'd have one framed in my apartment

difference
one poster is of a regular season game. the other would be from a game that sent texas to the elite 8. those are on quite a different scale

Game-winner
The "shot" is the game-winning three the Aggies hit against us last year.  The poster was actually kind of cool-looking, but seriously--one game, in the regular season, no less?
All your sport are belong to Texas.

it was a commemorative
given away at the game, which makes sense since it marks the last time UT was there and that was a pretty huge win for them last year (their one signature win if i'm not mistaken).  i don't think it was hanging up in dorm rooms prior to last night or anything.

"They were who we thought they were"
Unfortunatly, I do remember seeing that poster last nite. Evidently aggies have "crowned" that shot and game as the one that turned around the basketball program. It's very fitting that a win against UT would be so monumental!
I'm sort of a big deal, people know me

it just seems
like there are tons of buzzer beaters in college basketball, along with a lot of upsets that happen with the home court advantage.

it seems pretty aggy to call that shot "the shot" when it's not an uncommon thing to happen. i guess that's why they're aggies though.

shot
Especially since I seem to have completely forgotten about it the day after it happened.  I didn't know a regular season basketball game could be so monumental.

how about
the shot that guy from Okie Light shot against us this year.  The backwards, blind, sling-shot? That one was pretty disgusting.

Aggies will immortalize any game winning-anything against Texas.  People celebrate things things that don't happen often...Christmas, Easter, Aggies beating Longhorns....you know!

New Feeling
I'm a UT grad from the class of 2005 and I was a huge Big Ten fan prior to my time on the 40 acres.  Needless to say, I've changed my allegiances since.  Given that my love of all things UT started in 2001, I have not often felt the sting of losing to A&M.  We never beat OU while I was at UT and thus I hate them to this day, but I always rooted for A&M when they played out of state teams.  They were like a little brother.  I still cannot figure out how to deal with losing to A&M.

imagine
that you and your punk-ass little brother play a game of basketball in the driveway, and for the first time you can remember, he beats you. Then he rubs it in your face by telling your friends later when they come over to hang out.

Kinda feels like that.

(note: NOT an analogy for anything, so don't read too deeply into it. just imagine the feeling i'm trying to portray)
