Ross Ohlendorf, a former St. Stephen Spartan and Princeton Tiger, pitched two solid innings for the New York Yankees today in his Spring Training debut.
Ross Ohlendorf, whose mother is a Vice President at the University of Texas, pitched for the first time this year at Legends Field in Tampa, FL, for the Bronx Bombers.
Ohlendorf gave up 2 hits in 2 innings of work. One of the hits was a bloop single that Justin Morneau flopped in. Ohlendorf looked sharp, but struggled at times locating his fast ball. All in all, it was a very successful debut for Ohlendorf. It should be an interesting Spring Training, and now there's actually a reason to root for the Yankees (otherwise I wouldn't dare post this). It's exciting to see a fellow Austinite succeed at such a high level.
