Around SBN: Race to the Roses & BCS Bowl Predictions

What's This? A positive story in the NY Times?

IMO, the Times and its crap Sports section usually either ignores UT sports or plays up the negatives.  But now even the Times has fallen for KD.

the problem with the Times' sports section
is that no one reads the times' sports section.  it's got a local focus, but no one in new york reads it.  people buy the NYT because it's a national newspaper, and then if they want local coverage they'll buy the daily news or (god help us) the post.  and because the sports section is such a small portion of the NYT, they just don't have the reporting talent to cover nationwide.

i think the Times should scrap its sports section and instead publish its sunday Play magazine (which is consistently fantastic) every week instead of every month.

and now that this tangent is over, not a bad article on KD.  although it was supposed to be a game recap and now a KD feature piece, but whatever.

agree
the times needs not even have a sports section.  But the daily news and post are just as bad, 12 pages of whining about A-Rod and Jeter.  I'm forced to get all of my sporst fixes online here.

Is that pic....
... one of the three bullshit Offensive Fouls called on Texas towards the end of the first half? I think KD, DJ and James all 3 were hit with one each in rapid succession.

"Dazzling Show"?
Talk about having your headline written before the game.

He had a decent, sub-KD night that proves he's human, but it was far from the dazzling we've seen recently.

Bingo
The article and headline in no way mesh with everything else I've read and heard about the NMSU game (which I didn't get to see for myself).

haha - "Dazzling"
I agree, that was one of KD's more pedestrian showings.

i really hope he goes off tonight - he might be front page above the fold.
