Quite sad, really. Reminds us that it all may be coming to an end too soon. The NBA is calling. It makes sense with Oden, the guy looks like he's 40. But with KD, I feel like I can't miss a second of Longhorns basketball or I may miss one of the greatest collegiate athletes to ever play.
Michael Jordan had this to say about Durant (he was subsequently fined by the NBA for his commments):
"The kid in Texas shows all the right signs. But it's still college and not the pros," Jordan cautioned of depending on the draft. "Physically, I don't know whether he can stand (up to) an 82-game season or the physical (nature of) our game."
Um, yeah, maybe it's best for Durant to stick around one more year, prepare his body for the rigors of an NBA season. (I can dream, right? Right?) From everything I've read about Durant, he genuinely doesn't seem overly eager to jump to the NBA.
In what ways will Durant benefit most by staying at Texas for another year? Maybe we here at BON should start a list of all of the top reasons he should stay, and submit it to him after the tournament. :)
