for the 4 texans fans left
Houston gets: Matt Schaub, 1st Rd. pick (10th overall) of 2007
Atlanta gets: 1st Rd. pick (8th overall), 2nd Rd. pick (39th overall) of 2007 and 2nd Rd. pick of 2008
I guess they should have gotten a QB, last year huh. I'm not a huge Texans fan, but living here in Houston, I guess its nice to have someone else under center. Hope it works out.

Obviously we won't know how this trade turns out..
It also almost certainly takes them out of the running for AP and Quinn.
I think the Texans are taking a long, hard look at Levi Brown at 10...

what's it like?
And to think they could have owned Texas...
As mediocre as the Cowboys have been for so long (hmm, let's see, the road to mediocrity seems to have begun roughly 5 minutes or so after Jerry Jones got rid of the guy who he felt got too much credit for the team...), and let's face it, they've been so unattractive for so long, that if a Texas team could have found a face for their franchise, like, I don't know, maybe a legendary Texas high school AND college player, they could have absolutely taken over the hearts and minds of all Texans except for die-hard aggies, who, let's face it, have their hearts and minds already spoken for...

The Texans must be.....
The owners must be driving down the sale value of the club to justify a move or something.
Or maybe they are just big time idiots who should stay out of sports.
At least we know where to go to find the next head of FEMA.

For more on this
i've been in Houston for four years now and would like to embrace the home team, but they continue to show me nothing. not sure in the long run this will turn out to be a wise move. hopefully Schaub will prove me wrong, but i can't see his modest upgrade over Carr as worth the two starters (assuming they wouldn't fuck up those two picks) they would otherwise get.

i think it might even be a downgrade over Carr
i asked a buddy of mine today why exactly schaub is an upgrade over carr and he jokingly said, "because schaub hasn't played a game yet." it reminds me of a samuel johnson line, "What a strange narrowness of mind now is that, to think the things we have not known are better than the things we have known."
that is to say, in football terms, the backup quarterback is always the most popular guy on the team.

true
i don't know a lot about schaub, but almost every coach in the league raves about him. and i would take the unknown possible star over a guy destined to be average.
i know that the back-up is usually the most popularguy on the team; but on the Texans, it was the starter who was the most -unpopular- and that my friend is no way to field a team.
