Horns Get Some Love - NCAA #3 seed?
CBS Sportsline (i.e. take this with a huge box of salt) has Texas as a #3 seed.

There can't be anything bad about a higher seed, right?

the conference tourneys are off to a crazy start
Anything could happen, I suppose
But UCLA lost yesterday, so they now drop off the 1 seed line, to be replaced by UNC or Florida, if they win their conference tourney.
Bruins
The only way they don't get a #1 is if Kansas, Carolina, Florida, and Ohio State/Wisconsin all win their conference tournaments. Possible but not likely. One of them is bound to go down.

I'd say the odds are close to 100%
UNC demolished FSU 73-58
tOSU held off Michigan 72-62
Wisconsin beat MSU 70-57
Both tOSU and Wisconsin should take care of their next opponents easily (poor Kelvin, his team couldn't get past the Illini last night), so one of those two teams will win the Big 10.
Both Tennessee and Kentucky are out in the SEC, I doubt Florida has much trouble with Mississippi and either Mississippi State or Arkansas.
UNC has the toughest road to a tourney championship, taking on BC tonight, but BC struggled to hold off Miami in OT, and if UNC gets past the Eagles they get either NC State or Va. Tech. Hardly a daunting prospect, regardless of who wins that semifinal. I expect an all-Carolina ACC final, and I expect Roy Williams to win his first ACC tourney title.
That leaves Kansas. And after the Horns' performance against Baylor last night, I don't see us stopping them from winning another Big XII tourney title.
So like PB says, there's not a team west of the Rockies that scares me right now, and I think UCLA drops to a 2.

i think...
if we win today and don't lay a total egg against a&m, we get a 4. we'll be borderline 3/4 if we beat a&m, and then i have no idea. probably not getting above a 3 though.
selection committee
Does the selection committee have the same kind of bias though?

USC Just Upset Washington State
No. 1: UCLA, North Carolina, Ohio State, Kansas
No. 2: Florida, Wisconsin, Memphis, Texas A&M
No. 3: Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Washington State, Maryland
No. 4: Southern Illinois, Nevada, UNLV, Tennessee
My prediction, pending the outcome of tonight's games (I'm assuming Texas beats OSU, Oregon beats USC and G-Town beats Pitt):
No. 1: Florida, North Carolina, Ohio State, Kansas
No. 2: UCLA, Wisconsin, Memphis, Georgetown
No. 3: aTm, Pittsburgh, Texas, Oregon
No. 4: Southern Illinois, Louisville, UNLV, Maryland
