Texas Takes Care Of Huskers In Lincoln
The Longhorns rebounded from a dismal start to the weekend in Licoln with wins on both Saturday and Sunday to take the series with the Cornhuskers.
Kyle Russell homered for the second straight game to extend his UT single season record to 23. That mark is also tops in the NCAA in 2007. Meanwhile, Joseph Krebs survived a shaky two-run first inning to settle down nicely and give Texas 6 1/3 innings of four-hit baseball. Krebs improved to 5-0 on the season, while Randy Boone finished off the Cornhuskers for the second straight game, this time striking out three in 2 2/3 innings.
Texas has now won each of its six Big 12 series this season and sits atop the Big 12 standings at 14-4. The Longhorns next travel to Stillwater to take on second place Oklahomat State (10-5).

Texas up to #4
Coaches have a knee-jerk reaction to Rice winning at home and move them ahead of Texas at #3, but I'm not worried about that now. Texas has just about sewn up the Big 12 already, so Augie has some time to make final tuning adjustments to get ready for the CWS.
