'Horns and Aggies Square Off In Big 12 Finale
With just one win this weekend against Texas A&M, the Longhorns will secure at least a tie for the 2007 Big 12 championship. Two or three wins and they'll win it outright...
#7 Texas (39-14, 18-6) vs #9 Texas A&M (40-12, 13-10)
The three game series begins tonight in College Station at 6:30 p.m., then concludes in Austin with a game on Saturday and Sunday. James Russell (8-3, 3.53) will try to extend Texas five-game winning streak over the Aggies as tonight's starter, lining up opposite A&M's Kyle Nicholson (11-1, 1.73).
On Saturday, Adrian Alaniz (12-2, 2.37), who was named this week a semifinalist for the Roger Clemens Award (presented annually to college baseball's top pitcher), will take the mound for the 'Horns. Austin Wood will take the mound on Sunday for the Longhorns.
Joining Alaniz on the award short lists is Kyle Russell, who was named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser trophy.
This weekend's series with Texas A&M will be broadcast in Austin and San Antonio on Fox Sports Southwest.

listening on the radio...
It's the top of the 9th and the Horns have capitalized on the Aggies' main issues: bullpen, walks, errors, etc. This is a huge game with our magic number being 2. If we get one in College Station we only have to win one at home, with Adrian pitching in game 2.
Oh, and Kyle Russell's got another home run.
Does anybody out there think there are any tickets left at home? What about general admission seating? I actually haven't been to a game this year, so I don't know how the seating works with the new additions.
