Top Football programs
Over at the LSU blog "And the Valley Shook" they have a post comparing the top programs over the last 5-10 years, basing it on winning percentage. Texas is right up there of course, and is in the discussion for best program, although he ultimately gives USC the nod. (Apparently he didn't consult Les Miles first).

And I also have a completely unrelated question - how hard is it to get into DKR with the student ticket deal? If my friend doesn't have an ID, will I need to "borrow" one for him, or can he get by without one?

Not as hard as you think...
I don't want to ruin it for everyone by pointing out the flaws at DKR, but I went to the Ohio State game last year with a student ticket and it was very VERY easy to get in. If you need more details, just email me at thetrot at gmail and I'll be glad to share.

Re:
I got a couple friends into the student sections with student tickets, but we had a lot of trouble at the A&M game last year with a friend that had a student ticket but no ID. Some of the student ticket ushers are also really strict about matching the ticket name to the ID that's being presented.
Even if they don't let you in, though, I've seen people just stand by the gate until the usher is not looking, then slip in. The funniest case I saw of this was one guy presenting a North Texas ticket for the Ohio State game, arguing with the usher for 5 minutes about the fact that he printed out the wrong ticket, getting turned away, then sneaking in once the usher went to scan the next ticket.
