i don't understand why they do this at all...
which is compounded by the fact that the media members have no idea what they're doing anyway. marcus griffin is 1st team all conference?
he's being challenged for his starting job by a bunch of freshmen and sophomores; he's probably not even the best safety on his team. they realize that he's not michael, right? do they feel obligated to pick a certain number of Texas players on defense?

Goodson...
and Charles? What does that say about the state of the Big 12 running games?

I agree, but I think it is the same in every...
conference this season.
Does anyone know the injury status of Goodson?

That is because
they are all playing for USC.

preseason lists?
I don't know, maybe you lawyer-types can help me out, but this whole notion of preseason all-whatever lists seems kind of, um, "speculative."
It's sort of like a belated postseason list, minus the players who graduated or have no more eligibility.

yes
but it is content they're creating, isn't it. Even if it's bad content.
Pretty bland list. Actually, if there were much more thought put into it it'd rise up to bland.
Corn Nation - Graduating more of our players than you are!

Texas dominance

additionally
In a more general sense, Texas really dominated. That list of hometowns is weighted heavily in favor of this great state!

I love
The amount of players FROM Texas as compared to everywhere else on the big 12 all conference

a few changes
I'd put Kirk Elder at OG and someone else at center; I think Cody Wallace is good, but not even the best lineman on his own team, much less the Big 12.
I'd also put Yemi Babaloa at LT ahead of Hills, who I believe is an underachiever.
Anyone else notice the defense is 12 players? Maybe Griffin was supposed to be second-team, or was tied with one of the other vote getters?
