NYC Shooting Guard Visits Austin
Texas made a big impression on 6-6 shooting guard Sylven Landesberg during a recent trip to Austin. As first reported at Rivals ($), the New York city guard made an impromptu visit to Austin, with both him and his father coming away wowed.
Not half-bad, Rick. Not half-bad.
Rivals is also reporting that Landesberg is looking closely at St. Johns, Virginia, and Georgia Tech, but Texas is clearly at or near the top of the list right now. Landesberg would give Texas some much needed length on the wing were he to join the Longhorns.
Landesberg is ranked as the country's #38 prospect in the 2008 class by Rivals.

Peter, I'm not sure where to post this,
but may I ask about your reluctance to use objective case pronouns? Now, I'm getting old but I thought statements like "join Orson and I" or "with both he and his dad" would be correctly rendered "join me" or "with him". I'm silly, but this drives me crazy. On to more pertinent topics: NICE GOING, RICK!
Grammar police!
You're right, of course. And I'm glad you pointed it out.
Truth be told, I write these things so quickly that I rarely properly check them for mistakes.
Someone else emailed me not too far back to note my misuse of 'complement' and 'compliment,' which I was butchering over and over.
Thanks for pointing it out. I'll be more careful.
Don't get me started
on all of the split infinitives on this site. Its enough to truly drive a man insane.

Impossible
It's literally impossible to edit the hundreds of thousands of words that go up here. I have just enough time to post as is.
Still, if certain errors keep popping up that drive y'all nuts - let me know. I'm usually pretty good about avoiding ones I'm consciously trying to avoid.
It was a joke
and I meant it toward the community as a whole.
"to truly drive a man insane" is actually a split infinitive.

Hope Rick Can Recruit Oklahoma
Just look at all the names on this list of 2009 recruits from north of the Red River - including the top player on the list.
