Our daily countdown to the return of Texas football continues with yet another reason to love the fall in Austin.

Can you believe it? Just nine days. Single digits!

We're awfully close to kickoff, which prompted me to check in on the stadium webcam for progress on the expansion construction. For a full photo update of the stadium progress, check this page on HornFans.

I just drove by the stadium... it's hard to believe that the north end zone is going to be even half-finished in 9 days. But the construction stuff on the outside may have been blocking my view of the "lower" section that's supposed to be ready.

SS - Could you do me a favor?

It may also help the understanding of what is finished, and how they plan to handle the traffic flow. Plus, I won't be making the 150 mile drive to see things for myself until next Saturday.

If you have time, post a picture of where Gate 14 is now located. I am assuming it is at the northwest corner, but am not sure. My seats are in Section 16 (dead center, NEZ), but the entry is through Gate 14. That, obviously, tells me that there will not be a gate open yet at the very north end of the new shoe.

I have a feeling that, ironically, those in the NEZ will all be herded through one or two gates.

I drove by a couple more times and the closest gate I can see to the northwest corner is #7. A guy with me said he thought Gate 14 was on the other side. Either that, or it's concealed by the construction.

FWIW they've made progress just since yesterday.
