Moody narrows list to two (no Texas)
ESPN reports Moody will either transfer to UNC or Florida. Not surprising given Butch Davis and Urban Meyer's respective reputations for wooing. UNC makes sense for playing time, but despite loads of talent UF has struggled to have a star (or even a sole starter) at RB. He could get to carry the load there too.

The penicillan shots after leaving Stoolwater
must have turned his opinion on keeping company with the Looney Pickens bunch.
UNC makes the most sense. Plenty of PT there. Much better campus, too.
Urban Meyer would sell his own wife for a recruit. He's developed a reputation as a sweet talker. I would bet anything he's telling the same things to his current freshman RBs and HS recruits. "You'll be the man!"
was Meyer the coach...
that would send text messages that said things like "Just thinking about you" ?

That was Weis
according to the Chicago Tribune.
Meyer is adamantly opposed to an early singing period and has no truck offering kids with commitments to other schools.
He says he wants plenty of time, so he can get to know them and they can get to know him.
Recruiting can be such a creepy thing and I bet coaches just rationalize their behavior.
I'm guessing....
and has no truck offering kids with commitments to other schools.
you didn't have a problem with Mack Brown offering Roy Miller, Jevan Snead, Ishie Oduegwu, Ciron Black, Louis Vasquez and Dravannti Johnson, all of whom had already committed to other programs?? Glass houses and all.
Regarding the early signing period, I don't blame Urban Meyer one little bit. Emmanuel Moody is a classic example of what is wrong with applying pressure in the early season.
I don't agree with either of those statements
But I doubt we would agree on much of anything, anyways.
Mack took those kids after they contacted him first or decided to waiver. In Snead's case, because Meyer took another QB after leaving the impression he wouldn't. Meyer stays in pursuit regardless of the circumstances. This isn't just the opinion of a Texas fan either. I gaurantee ND, USC, FSU, Miami, etc, fans would line up and say the same thing.
If you think Moody is a good reason for keeping the status quo, then I can think of hundreds of reasons why there should be an early signing period. Besides the fact that it works so well with basketball. How about letting kids enjoy their season, do their school work and enjoy being a kid by getting it out of the way?
Instead you have Urban Meyer text messaging, calling, e-mailing and flying planes over your house until the Feb signing date.
If there had been an early signing period Moody may very well be the starting RB at Texas right now (and happy). So no, he is a terrible example -- and is actually the poster child for 11th hour recruiting pitches. Moody's case is just illustrating what is wrong with the current system.
You're not even close
Your take on Jevan Snead is laughable. Jevan changed his commitment to Texas more than a month before Tim Tebow made his commitment to the Gators. Jevan entered into his Florida commitment knowing 2 QB's would be taken in the class and most likely the other QB would be Tebow. He became unhappy when JC transfer Brent Schaeffer had communication with Coach Urban Meyer. The idea of a 3rd QB, especially a JC transfer, was completely unacceptable.
Dravannti had a certain little bird whispering in his ear about the 4-2-5 and how it would impact his career. Next thing we know he wants to visit. Another glasshouse situation.
Moody picks Florida...
I was actually hoping to see him run wild at North Carolina, since I can't stand rooting for those damn Gators...
Unfortunately (or not) for UF
Apparently, dismissed WR Jamere Holland will not be joining Moody in Gainesville.
