Morning Coffee Is Good To Go Saturday

Limas Sweed is telling the media that he'll play Saturday against Arkansas State. I honestly don't care too much one way or the other whether he plays Saturday. What I do care about - deeply - is that Limas is at 100% for the rest of the season. Losing Billy Pittman stings a little, but is a manageable loss. Losing Limas Sweed for any of Texas big games, however, could be crippling. Even if Limas does play this week, I hope it's sparingly. Stay healthy, big fella.

Getting to the games early during the fall is always a good idea, but especially so this year. With the North End Zone still under heavy construction, UT Athletics Director Deloss Dodds says, "Everybody is going to be impacted by the change." With rain pushing this project behind schedule all summer long, I'd expect there to be some major inconveniences Saturday. Plan ahead.

Briefly: CBS Sportsline features McCoy... The National Weather Service is still calling for a 30 percent chance of showers Saturday... If you missed any of SMQ's fine summer preview spectacular, he's got a tidy roundup for easy navigation.

The 90-day forecast for the football season in Texas (and Florida) calls for above average rain and heat in September and October and drier, cooler conditions in November (National Weather Service).
