TCU drops another
TCU blew a fourth quarter lead tonight against Air Force. That means the frogs have now dropped two in a row (and when was the last time that happened?).
This obviously hurts Texas' schedule strength, and maybe more importantly the team's credibility, because last Saturday's "confidence-builder" suddenly doesn't look quite so impressive.
My view is that this TCU team is still pretty good, although from what I saw tonight they clearly have problems on offense. This begs the question: does this change our assessment of last week's defensive effort?
I personally think TCU simply got caught in a Thursday night road game 5 days after a devastating loss. They didn't have much fight in them. Lets hope they don't collapse.

there may be some emotional cause...
but still...their offense is still pretty damn bad.

Silly preseason ranking...
.... was based upon unsubstantiated hype. They have more losses coming. How was a (1-2) TCU team ever ranked #19?

all preseason rankings, high or low,
are based on silly, unsubstantiated hype. which is why they shouldn't exist.

Exactly
Not to toot my own horn but this is exactly what I said before the TCU game:
TCU is a media darling right now because they are a mid major school that happens to be pretty good. That is all, though. They are only pretty good. Yes they are capable of beating Texas but I think a lot of TCU's ranking is hype. Don't allow yourself to get caught up in the media hype. We have better athletes than they do and the game is at DKR. It isn't like we are playing the 2005 or 2006 Ohio State Buckeyes next week. We are playing TCU at home and we should win the game pretty easily.
.
I am frustrated about the fact that our victory over TCU is somehow tarnished by their loss to Air Force in a game they should have won.
This will definitely hurt Texas' legitimacy and our strength of schedule no doubt.
