No Cable TV But Have RoadRunner
Can anyone kind enuf to let me know where I can watch this game online? I don't have cable tv:( but have RoadRunner internet.
Thanks for your help in advanced. Hook'em!
Not gonna be able to watch online
Game should be up at texassports.com immediately after it ends. Until then, you'll have to do radio.
UCF Enrollment
During Craig Way's pregame summary of UCF, he mentioned that the school's population surpassed 48,000. Nothing to do with football, but interesting, and sort of shocking.
it is shocking
They can support all those universities? I didn't think that many graduated from high school in Florida.
They have to be people coming down from New York.

New Jersey-ites
Tons go from the mid atlantic region. jersey, PA, etc.
Nice stadium, though.
(Kick some ass, Huskers)
TV Challenge
This 2:30 slot is going to require some serious concentration. We've got four legitimate football games to take in all at the same time. I've got two tvs and fell totally unprepared.
I hear ya Wiggo
a lot of football on right now, and if i weren't such a Texas homer - the Tenn FL game would get the big TV.
Iowa State and Miss State - I am 2-0 today. I held off on the OU bet.
first snap
for Notre Dame goes over Clausen's head and he falls on it at the foot line.
Bwaa haaa!

Good ol' bubble screen
Boy how I missed thee.
Ramonce Taylor is the only player...
that made that play look good
first snap
for Michigan is a fumble.
Man, these teams suck!

we fake field goals and punts
all the time in the early part of the season against teams we'll easily beat.
It was a good long drive
considering those defenders are pumping adrenaline, they should be on their way to crashing.
Clausen fumble
Horrible game so far. Both teams are awful.
first snap
of second series for Notre Dame is a fumble by Clausen, Michigan recovers.

why not fake it twice?
hahha
but dont you think they could've punched a TD from the 2 yard line? or are yall satisfied with a FG?

what?
the OU SUCKS animation?

Why does anyone ever run against us?
It is pretty much a waste of a play
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 2:57 PM CDT up reply actions
maybe they were just saving it
for this game
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions
Its early
but I'm thinking our defense hasn't improved at all since Ark St. I think TCU just really really sucks.
I think we're overrating this year's team
National Champion caliber teams don't let drives like that happen.
Maybe so but...
Chief,
You gotta just take it one game at a time when you consider how bad we've looked in the first two weeks. Personally, I never mention National Championship teams until after we play OU.
I think that the team that showed up in the second half against what I thought was a good TCU squad was a NC caliber group....
...but obviously if the first quarter of this game is any indication we're in for a long day. Break out the Pepto-Bismol.
I should have qualified that statement more
That drive made me comment on it, but I'm taking into account the past two games as well. I just see too many problems for us to run the table this year. A lot of people that I've talked to (and quite a few here at BON) just kind of shrug off the glaring problems the team has.
Personally, I'm not the kind of person who can shrug those things off and say "We'll be fine". I'm a Texas fan. I expect to win, and falling short of a Big 12 championship (and subsequently a NC) is a disappointment for me. I'm also a realist, and I know that if we struggle against ho-hum teams, OU is probably going to run all over us, not to mention A&M in College Station.
A lot of people say 10 win seasons are a success. Sure they are, compared to Baylor, but we're a premier college football program. We should be better than this, and I can't figure out who to blame. It's just frustrating.
Blessing in disguise
Let their adrenaline wear off plus we get to focus on other games.
WEATHER DELAY?!?!?!
come on. i wanna see texas back on the field

yeah
at least the momentum of UCF will go away.

Hey BrooklynHorn
any idea where to watch this thing in Brooklyn? Williamsburg, even?
Can't think of any place that will have the game
but most sports bars in brooklyn will turn to whatever game you want. This is on ESPN2 so they should all have it, and there's no competition, as there are no other major sporting events right now, and Brooklynites don't care about college football.
Try Iona (they usually show soccer, but those games are over now), its on Grand near Bedford, and there's another sports bar on Bedford near N. 9th or so (I forget the name). Or you could try the Turkey's Nest (Bedford and N 12th?) Any of those might turn their channel for you.

Bad news folks
UCF realized there's no point running. Ever.
They can look like Texas Tech if they just pass the whole time. This could get UGLY in a hurry if the secondary doesn't make some plays.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:09 PM CDT reply actions
so true
my prediction though: theyll be tired by the second half and start getting sloppy.
by the other Andrew on Sep 15, 2007 3:11 PM CDT up reply actions
Like TCU
I can only hope they get sloppy in the 2nd half.
GAME HAS RESUMED!
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:16 PM CDT up reply actions
Iowa fg blocked
ISU still up by 2 with 7 minutes left.
Big 12
Tx Tech 14, Rice 10 in 2nd Q
OU 14, Utah St 0 in 1st Q
Missouri 31, W. Mich 3 3rd Q
Iowa St 12, Iowa 10 7 min left in game.
Are we nickel and diming on purpose
I'd prefer to see 12 yard passes instead of 5 yarders, but are we trying to silence the crowd?
The man the myth the legend
Jordan on an offensive play
TD TEXAS
This game looks like it's going to be an offensive explosion. If that's the case, I'll go to war with Colt McCoy as our QB with our receivers and Charles.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:26 PM CDT reply actions
Very precise
Nice job by Colt of methodically marching down the field. Time for the D to end any hope of making this a four quarter game.
Does anyone
else see the resemblance of this receiving corps to the Indianapolis Colts?
Limas=Harrison
Quan=Wayne
Jones=In the past it was Stokley, now Gonzalez
Finley=can split out like Dallas Clark
We actually might have more depth than them though! :)
This is starting to look like what we expected
in the preseason.
Powerful offense with a huge defense liability.
Tennessee offense
Commentator derisively calls it the "nip and tuck" offense.
I cant wait until we hire that offensive coordinator, he'd fit right in with our "hunt and peck" offense.
All kidding aside, Colt looks awesome so far
this may be weird
but the qb that reminds me the most of vince that i've seen is jake locker. he's elusive in a way that you see in vince and pretty much as fast too. and yes, he's white.
The new kickoff rule
Helped UCF a bunch there. Even without the rule, that was a weak kick.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:31 PM CDT reply actions
IOwa State
Completes long pass. Inside Iowa 20
FG UCF
Actually, I'm going to take that as a positive. FG's alone won't help them win this game.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:37 PM CDT reply actions
15-13
Iowa st. One sec left. Man how bad is big 10 looking this year so far.
SWEEEEEED
What a catch. Going to be reviewed though.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:39 PM CDT reply actions
what a catch
and finally we go deep. dinking and dunking will open that up.
Never mind on that, it hit the ground.
He clearly stopped the ball's momentum
he can't help if he hits the turf right after that. The turf didn't help him make the catch.
Bullshit
I still like the call
to stretch the field. Need more of those.
Do it again Colt

Question about officials
Shouldn't the officials be from conferences other than the two teams that are playing? I know a Big XII ref is there. It just seems kind of odd. There's a chance of compromising the game to make a conference look good.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:46 PM CDT reply actions
That's only in bowl games
It'd be too much shuffling to get neutral refs for every non-con game.
D is improving!
From giving up a TD, to FG, to NOTHING
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:49 PM CDT reply actions
We gave up nothing the first drive...
Let's hope it's not some kind of cycle
This has been
posted before, but we have NO emotional leader on this team. Watching the Florida-Tenn game, Tebow is an emotional leader and his team and fans follow. Now, this may not be Colts biggest asset, but we need someone to step up and be a leader.
WOW
Only VY is supposed to do things like that!
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:55 PM CDT reply actions
Really?
The red zone offense is awful this year. We can't seem to punch it in easily.
Fumbled away
a huge opportunity to change the momentum there. Three and out followed by a 15 play TD drive would have been HUGE.
Why put JC in there?
That should be Oggy's run.
AAAAAAHHHHH
Hold em here.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 3:58 PM CDT reply actions
This is going to be a long season guys
We're going to struggle to beat Rice next week. This team isn't going to give us any easy games.
We got something better
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 4:03 PM CDT up reply actions
We think we're a running team near the goal.
This is a critical mis-perception.
We are not.
The sooner they become aware of that, the quicker these rZ problems will abate. They really need to look at what Leach does inside the 10.
Colt is getting all day
And he cant find anyone?
Colt is dancing too much
he has more time to stay in the pocket.
no surprise on the missed kick either.
Red Zone
I would have rather taken that fumble at the 30 ydln. We had a better chance of scoring. I'd like to see, statistically, through the past 16 games how bad this redzone offense really is.
Thinking too much?
Do the Horns actually think they're playing the Gators instead of the Golden Knights?
I'm starting
to get concerned that we're letting a mediocre team just hang around. Really hope these missed opportunities don't come back to hurt us.
Why!?
Why dont we go straight for the endzone after that turnover.
There was single coverage on Limas. Audible to the fade to Limas, at least its taking a shot...
Haven't you heard? Killer DBs.
You'd think they'd assessed the match-ups by the first quarter and know where we should have the advantage, which considering our receivers, should be a pick 'em. Do they work that angle? Except for the TD pass on the obvious slant, no.
They won't or don't want to stretch the field long. Long one of the flaws of this offense and there's no good reason for it. To me it means that don't believe in the deep ability of the passer or the receivers or both. Inexplicable.
How many breaks is UCF going to get?
FINALLY THEY PAY! INTERCEPTION FOR TD FOR FOSTER!
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
Why can't we throw a pass farther than 6 yards?
We tried one deep route and Limas was 5 yards ahead of the DB's.
totally agree
we need to start throwing the ball down the field....especially with our speed!
Yeah
I just woke up my 3 year old daughter.
Thats how bad this game is, she has fallen asleep...
Maybe this will get us going!
where the hell
was our cover team?
I didnt see but one anywhere near the carrier for like 15-20 yards...
Just patience and things will go our way!
Guys, don't ever give up Foster! Hook'em!!!!
titans10, Thanks for your online tv =)
Thanks titan10 :)
I look forward to it. But I usually go to tailgate with my friends when we have home game. Anyway, thanks for helping =)
yeah
I thought coach was a bit hard on him, these announcers too.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 4:17 PM CDT up reply actions
are we not showing all of our cards?
do you think the offense is not showing all their cards with the bigger games on the horizon? With all the talent we have we should be all over the field making big plays! We look far more conservative than I expected this year.
People posit that every year
And every year when we play OU, we see the same stuff.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 4:21 PM CDT up reply actions
these counters are driving me nuts
lets pin are ears back and run it through them !
Remember Pittman's Wheel Route against OU?
It was VY's last year, right before the half, and it was the dagger in OU's heart. I'd love to see that play again.
Over the modern decade
probably the play with the most touchdowns per attempts. True for high school through the pros.
Quan
playing awesome. Running good routes, catching everything, and not playing afraid over the middle.
Colt McCoy or Stephen McGee?
Who started for Texas today? With the scrambling, happy feet and 5 yard passes I cannot tell.
Cracked the code: 5 receivers = 5 yard pass
Even though Colt has the time to go deeper.
Nice play call
DB really jumped the previous route. Davis calls the double move on the same corner the very next play.
Good stuff
now 3 shots for the endzone before the half.
We need to do this before we get inside the 20
Sweed
One shot to end zone needs to be to Sweed. Let him create something.
WHY!
I hate this shit!
3 chances for the endzone and we throw 2 5 yard outs.
Ridiculous. Teams like OU and USC go straight for the endzone. Thats what seperates us the most right now from those teams.
Exactly. It's like they don't trust playmakers
to make plays. Yet, when called on, they do. You gotta make the call. Sweed and Finley should be killers in the EZ and obviously Nate and the rest can make plays. Inexplicable.
Out of bounds
Or TD?
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 4:28 PM CDT reply actions
If call is reversed
Then does that mean we can re-accept the PI penalty?
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 4:30 PM CDT reply actions
Yeah, but there's no time
if Colt hadn't completed that previous pass, we'd be in business even if the call were reversed.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 4:30 PM CDT up reply actions
Well
this could turn out like the A&M game last week. Eight looks at it before its changed and then changed again and changed again.
2 possession game
20-10. I can't complain considered how they were torching the secondary initially.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 4:32 PM CDT reply actions
Key Stat: 4.9 Yards per Pass play
Texas desperately needs to open it up through the air.
BTW: 3.7 Yards per run, and that is skewed by Jamaal's 27 yarder in the first.
The quarterback is hanging his balls.
I knew he had a funny look on his face.
Limas
Is he hurt? he's barely been on the field. I have the tv muted so i would not have heard if they had said so.
I think I've figured our team out
We're probably ranked around 19 in the first half and we're a top 5 team in the second.
God help us if we get down big to somebody.
by the other Andrew on Sep 15, 2007 4:43 PM CDT reply actions
It happened in the Tech game last year
And look how that turned out.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 15, 2007 4:45 PM CDT up reply actions
Hopefully these early tough games will help us
OU has a cupcake schedule until the RRS, so maybe when the Horns punch them in the mouth, they won't be used to overcoming adversity like us.
by HookeminOKC on Sep 15, 2007 4:45 PM CDT reply actions
are you in OKC right now?
do you wear a cup when you go out?
by the other Andrew on Sep 15, 2007 4:46 PM CDT up reply actions
OU's cupcake early schedule
Yeah, it's funny
My brother's an Aggie, so when he wears his gear, OU fans talk about the Aggie tradition and mutual respect, blah, blah, but when I wear my Horn stuff, it's total disdain from the locals.
by HookeminOKC on Sep 15, 2007 4:50 PM CDT reply actions
seriously...
is anyone watching the OSU-UW game? Locker is the most elusive rushing QB since VY. can't throw like VY yet though.
dixon is good
but doesn't remind me of VY.
watch locker run. he's got the same "defenders slip off of him" thing. very similar runner.
announcers just decided to agree w/ you
gotta love that braveheart nike commercial
i am a sucker for good tunes in an ad
really looking forward to PB's

Charles in open field
It's a thing of beauty. THe problem is getting him there more often.
I don't see what good a 13 point lead does
I'd rather leave them on their own 25 if we can't convert on 4th
well, you see...
the next time we get into the red zone and can't score, it'll be a 16 point lead! mack is thinking ahead.
good point
but only if we can hold their offense
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 5:06 PM CDT up reply actions
Bah
At least we got Jordan back today and hopefully Pittman next week.
stupid call
the guy was still going forward in bounds...these late hits are getting freaking stupid.
Deon Beasly
pffffft! c'mon
Announcers
got this one right. Smith costs UCF a TD on that one by trying an unnecessary dive.
How long are we gonna let them stay in this
fucking game?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Their best two plays, the sideline pass and
wide run picks on the corners.
On one the corner slipped (Beasley) then the personal foul, the other got a great block which turned the corner inward. The same plays they've had success with earlier in the game.
We're not sandbagging
They're letting defense dictate and will not challenge safeties deep. This is where GD gets brain fart and freezes up.
yup
this is exactly the kind of game we end up losing. We've seen this before.
by BrooklynHorn on Sep 15, 2007 5:18 PM CDT up reply actions
This is where defense usually has bailed us out.
If the rain continues, we might have to run as a running team.
