October 6th
You know, I should be downright ecstatic that I will attend my first ever Red River Shootout here in a few weeks. And I am...sort of. It is not the RRS itself that mixes my feelings however. It's the simple fact that it's on the same damn day as Florida-LSU. The RRS (according to the Big12Sports.com's TV grid) will kickoff at 2:30 and the Florida-LSU showdown is scheduled to kick at 7. If I'm lucky (by lucky I mean the driver of the Texas Exes bus does 100 the whole way back to Austin), I'll be able to catch part of the second half. The moral of the story, friends, is that it is sometimes hard to perform my duties as a diehard Longhorn fan and my duties as a diehard college football fan. Rest assured though, I am up to the task......... I think.

Chances are by then
Boomer Sooner will be blasting through your head and you can't stop it, but maybe your hangover will have faded away and you're working on another with a victorious hue. Or not, the Horns lost and you don't care about any other football game. Everything becomes a red blur.
I hope you get a great game. I saw a solid win, a horrible loss (remember Andy White; don't worry, no one does) and a truly great comeback victory. The highs are incredible and the lows can twist your soul into something stinky as the cotton candy on the bottom of your shoe. But, heh, you're a fan, so that's what your gamblin' your attention on.
Best of luck to you, Sweed4Heisman. May the lightning spring from the Horns and you cheer yourself into delirium.
It is one.....
.....of the greatests moments of your CFB life. I remember mine like it was yesterday. Has to be the greatest environment in the game today.
I'm pretty sure that either way
you won't care about LSU-Florida that night.
If we win, you'll be ecstatic out-of-your-mind that we're on an unexpected fast-track to the National Championship game, and you won't give a damn what you gave up to have been there.
And if we lose (especially if we lose by a lot), you certainly won't give a damn to watch two teams from some other conference slug it out.
I think either way you'll probably just be drunk.
Thank you folks
I think that you're all right. Once the K-State game is over, I'll probably be counting the seconds until Saturday and won't give any other games too much thought. The thought just struck me the other day as I was watching Florida dismantle Tennessee : "Damn what a slugfest they'll have with LSU." Luckily, I visit the BON community and they are more than happy to steer me back in the right direction. When I see the best rivalry in sports in one of the grandest arenas in all of football... I won't know what to do with myself, much less care about the Florida-LSU game. Thanks again!!
Stay Saturday night in Dallas
why head back? Sunday is just pro football, so sleep off the hangover, and take a leisurely drive back on Sunday afternoon.
I don't have a vehicle
I'm just going to take the Texas Exes bus.
