Injury report

According to the statesman, Sherrod is listed as "probable" for the game Saturday!  I know Mack doesn't like to push it if there's risk of aggravating an injury, but FWIW Shipley was listed as probable for last week and he played quite a bit.

This means they could still redshirt Chiles, which may be a good idea if he hasn't played by this saturday (1/3 of the regular season).  Anyway, good news for Sherrod that he's at least getting better.

Ulatoski and Orakpo are definitely out.

Mack did say that Melton and Kindle will play, obviously Pittman too, although none will be starting.

Did anybody else catch that great Royal quote that Mack read on Craig Way's radio show this afternoon?

If Chiles has improved

at all over the last few weeks, then Sherrod's ship has probably sailed.

He probably hasn't practiced full speed since the injury -- and there wouldn't be any point in having a running QB who at the #2 can't run full speed.

I guess it all depends on their confidence in playing Chiles at the QB position and how iffy Harris looks.

disagree

Chiles has made a great deal of improvement and has a good chance of being the starter post McCoy.  You don't want to burn this guy's redshirt if he's going to get minimal PT throughout the season and can learn enough in practice and in the spring to be an asset later on.  Cultivate his talent and have him for 4 more year.

Sherrod won't need to run this week, just give him some reps.  At this point if McCoy went down at any point in the next two weeks we wont have a chance against OU anyways.
