Am I the only one who watched King of the Hill last night?
Hank and everyone else went to the Big 12 Championship in Houston at "Alamo Field" to watch Texas play Nebrasky.
Hank was in an Earl jersey (he's over 14, so he shouldnt wear one) and Peggy was in a Nobis jersey (at home).
Really solid episode to start the season. Make sure you watch it when it comes back around.
When Texas loses, Bobby says "Is it alright that I feel like I dont want to live anymore?"
Also, Hank is talking about Texas's bowl options: "They might go to the Peach Bowl or the Gator Bowl or, God forbid, the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.

Saw part of it
Where they're almost mobbed by UT fans while wearing NU Big XII champs shirts. What was up with that?

I rarely ever watch non-sporting events on TV
but when I do, King of the Hill is at the top of the list. It's just a fine all-around show. Mike Judge (as well as being an Austin resident) is a great talent. Office Space and Idiocracy are outstanding.

non-alumni fans
Am I the only that feels that fans of a college team should be limited to students/faculty/alumni and their families?
I'm not a big fan of having the dumbest bunch of rednecks as Texas fans.

Then go to a 1 AA school
Those dumb rednecks are why we have the income to have the atheletic department that we have.

YES!
You are the only one, at least I hope. It always piss me off when someone declare others as "dumbest bunch of rednecks". Just because you got a degree from Texas, you entitle yourself to announce others shouldn't be a fan of Texas?

Who are "the dumbest bunch of rednecks"?
Mike Judge? Hank Hill?
Anyway, as a Texas student I couldn't care less where UT fans went to school. It doesn't matter.

As a non-alumnus
I feel it is my duty to inform you.
There are many adjectives to describe you and your comments: pompous, self-rightious, egotistical, non-sensical, moronic, amongst plenty of others that might get me banned. Don't want that to happen.
You've been around the site for a while so I'll spare you the history lesson. But true fans are just that. True fans. Regardless of which institution you were blessed enough to attend. I, myself, was not fortunate enough to attend the great University, but from the womb, I was attending games and Texas Memorial Stadium. Circumstances don't dictate for whom you can root. Love does. I love Texas and The University of Texas represents that love. So if you don't like the fact that I, a non UT grad, loves Texas and all things Longhorn, Go F*#% yourself!
And Go Horns!

Notre Dame
probably has the largest non-alumni fan base of any college program in the country. Every other blue collar schmoe on the South Side of Chicago pretends they went to school there too.
They are also one of the rare sports programs that the average non-sports watching women can identify.
This is why they have their own tv station.
Honestly, I wish more non-alums watched Texas.

Since I'm over 14...
I won't be wearing the Gridiron Greats 1977 Earl jersey my son gave me for my birthday except behind drawn blinds. Thanks for clueing me in to what's uncool.

Haven't watched it yet, but...
it's on my DVR. Now I'm really looking forward to it.

yeah, i saw it...
My Husker friend who is on recruiting duty in Pittsburgh, called me and told me I had to watch that episode. Of course, I was busy watching the Cowboys destroy Da Bears so I had to record it.
When I finally got around to watching it, I thought it was a thing of beauty. Except for the ending.
Peggy wearing the Nobis jersey and tossing the house reminded me of...well, me.
And yes, Bobby's line,
"Is it alright that I feel like I dont want to live anymore?"
...is exactly how I feel when the Horns lose. Everytime. It sickens me. That feeling lets you know that you are a TRUE Horns fan.
And Krazieman...yes, I hope you're the only one who feels that way. Lots of Horns fans have never stepped foot in Austin City Limits, but it's TEXAS PRIDE that we all celebrate. Get a life if you think you are one of the few who are rightfully "priviledged" to root for the Longhorns.

for krazieman
I don't remember seeing any rules about having to be alum or someone in the family to root for the team. you honestly think over 80,000 fans every weekend are all alumni?? I was born in Louisiana and grew up in B/CS (so i guess you really hate me)and love the horns and always have and always will, also, i never played for or worked for the dallas cowboys but i love them too! 90% of fans of other teams i talk with have never been to their universities either...so where is the logic in your statement? Are you a longhorn fan from oklahoma...because that would def explain it!!!
