Funny Aggie poll disparity

I know it's just the beginning of the season and the polls don't mean much, but I like that in the AP poll, the Aggies dropped two spots after winning in triple OT to an unranked team at home, but they manage to jump up 5 spots in the coaches' poll. Hopefully they'll drop out of both polls after an embarrassing loss next week at the hands of UL Monroe. Go Indians! Just kidding. But not really.

That game should have been a loss

If that Fresno State WR just holds on to the ball the game is over.

Aggie can't keep escaping games like this.

An aggie lose is always a good one but...

the Big 12 would have taken another huge hit in terms of strength as a conference.  In the end, I am glad they won...and that they had to work so hard to get it.

Explanation?

Can somebody clarify what happened when the Fresno State receiver dropped the ball?  It went to review and they stated the play would stand as called on the field - down at the 1/2 yard line.  Then they come back and say there is a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty.  Shouldn't Fresno State have been allowed to decline the penalty and take the ball at the 1/2 yard line?  At no point in that fiasco did the referee ever say the original ruling on the field should be overturned.  Just curious / confused as to what really happened.

Review

Initially, the ball was ruled at the 1/2 yard line.  After the first review, it was ruled as called on the field.  Then, the review booth calls down and says to wait b/c it has more footage.  The call was then overturned saying that the Fresno State player fumbled the ball into the endzone, which A&M recovered.  It was then noted that there was flag on the play against A&M for defensive pass interference so Fresno State gets the ball back on the 12 yard line or so.  The Fresno State player should have just gone down at the 2 yrd line and they probably would have scored a touchdown and ended the game.

actually

it was roughing the passer, not defensive pass interference.  Half the distance to the goal and a 1st down.

Speaking of Aggie...

Did any of you happen to see the pic on the front page of the Statesman of Javorskie “Triple-Cheese” Lane and a few other Agros shooting the Horns down?

I just don't get it.

So you just squeaked by an unranked team in 3OT, a team you should have beaten by 20 and were beating 19-0 at halftime. And you choose to celebrate by reminding everyone how much penis envy you have for the Longhorns.

Unbelievable. You got to love how the Aggies, starting with Coach Fran have basically become the embodiment of everything they claim they hate about Texas Tech.

Who are the Classless Clowns of the Big XII now?

Be nobody but yourself in a world that desperately wants you to be like everybody else.

YES!!!

So I am not the only one that noticed that.  I was eating my breakfast and there on the bottom of the front page of the sports page is that picture you speak of above.  I said to my wife "This is the epitome of an identity crisis...look at these guys"--never was the chant "poooooor aaaggies" more appropriate.  If I were an aggie fan, that would be embarrassing--use the symbols of your school that you've develop through tradition to celebrate (i.e. gig'em)--of course, this is different when they are playing Texas--they should do that.  For them to define themselves by a childish degredation of another schools symbol--either the upside down horns or cutting off the horns of a sticker and placing it on the back of theirtruck--only demonstrates an inferiority complex.  I continue to be surprised by their lack of insight into this.
